V0L 17 PACE 793 This matter coming before the County Commission upon the Planning Commission's recommendation who held a public hearing on this issue, January 22, 1974, and unanimously recommended approval, and, The County Commission deeming this action to be in the public interest and consistent with the Comprehensive Plan for Deschutes County, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the following amendments be adopted: Deschutes County Subdivision Ordinance No. PL -2, Section 303, subsection A amended to read as follows: A. Block Length: Blocks shall not exceed 2,640 feet in length except where necessitated by topographical, other physical conditions, or an adjacent major arterial street in order to reduce the number of intersections with the arterial streets. Blocks less than 600 feet in length may be cause for dis- approval of the preliminary plat where it is found that block design can be provided to conform to this Section. Deschutes County Subdivision Ordinance No. PL -2, Section 609, Improvement Plans, amended to read as follows: A complete set of Improvement Plans shall be submitted and approved by the Department of Public Works prior to the start of construc- tion. Improvement plans, at the discretion of the County Road Department, may include improvements for drainage works. Improve- ment plans for street signs shall be included. The basic informa- tion required for the set of Improvement Plans is available from the Public Works Department. Deschutes County Subdivision Ordinance No. PL -2, Section 613, subsection B amended to read as follows: B. All required improvement plans, profiles and specifications of proposed improvements shall be submitted to the County Road Department for approval prior to the time the final plat is submitted for checking. Where standards and specifications are the same as those adopted by the County Board of Commissioners, they may be submitted by reference. Deschutes County Subdivision Ordinance No. PL -2, Section 614, subsection A, items 1 and 2 amended to read as follows: 1. A Time Certificate of Deposit naming Deschutes County as beneficiary shall be placed on file with Deschutes County by the developer or subdivider. 2. The Subdivider may submit written certification by a bank or other reputable lending institution that money is being held to cover the cost of the improvements and incidental expenses and that the last 10 percent of the commitment for improvements will not be released until written authorization is received from the Road Department. i 2. Deschutes County Subdivision Ordinance No. PL -2, Section 206, add new subsection C to read as follows: C. STREET SIGNS: In urban and suburban type subdivision where streets will be accepted into the County maintained system, the subdivider shall deposit with the County a sum of money deter- mined by the County, to be sufficient to cover the cost and installation of street signs. The street signs will be installed by the County or to County standards by the subdivider. Done by order of the Board of Commissioners this 6th day of February, 1974, to become effective immediately.
