IN THE MATTER OF
PETITION FOR _LMPROVEMENTS ON BRIGGS ROAD:
At this time the Commission received petition from property owners on
Briggs Road requesting Deschutes County to make necessary surfacing improvements
to Briggs Road.
IN THE MATTER OF
VACATION OF AN ALLEY:
At this time the Commission, on September 21, 1973, held a Hearing on its
intention to vacate an alley in Block 30, Laidlaw, as described in the Commission
minutes dated August 15, 1973. it is hereby ordered that the alley in Block 30,
Laidlaw, as described shall be and the same is hereby vacated as there were
no objections at said Hearing.

IN THE MATTER OF
MUSEUM CARETAKER:
At this time the Commission ordered the Deschutes County Clerk to issue
a monthly payment of $50.00 to John De Bilt, 1245 Baltimore, Bend, instead of
Mel Tappe who terminated as of August 31, 1973, for custodial and maintenance
services of the Deschutes County Pioneer Museum, beginning September 15, 1973.
IN THE MATTER OF ESTABLISHMENT
OF PETTY CASH & CHANGE FUND IN BUILDING:
At this time the Commission resolved that appropriation in the amount of
$25.00 be transferred from the appropriation for Contingency Fund in the General
Fund to the appropriation for Materials and Services, Building Petty Cash, in
the Planning Dept. in the General Fund; and that appropriation in the amount of
$25.00 be transferred from the appropriation for Contingency Fund in the General
Fund to the appropriation for Materials and Services, Building Change Fund, in
the Planning Dept. in the General Fund.
IN THE MATTER OF
AGREEMENT WITH STATE:
At this time the Commission entered into Agreement with the State of
Oregon Department of Revenue that during the 1973-74 fiscal year the Department
of Revenue shall provide qualified personnel for appraisal of Industrial
Properties and merchandise inventory checks at the estimated cost to the County
of $328.00 and $574.00 respectively.
IN THE MATTER OF HEARING ON
ANNEXATION TO RURAL FIRE PROTECTION DIST. #2:
The Commission on September 19, 1973 held a hearing on the annexation of
the following described property to Rural Fire Protection District #2:
All of Sec. 16, T. 17S., R. 13 E., W.M. excepting therefrom the ET'SE4'
of Sec. 16; that is, all property in the Plat of Cimarron City and the
replats of said subdivision to be annexed,
and beings there were no objections to said annexation, designated final hearing
date as October 17, 1973; if no requests for an election are filed before this
date, Deschutes County Commissioners will issue final order for said annexation.
IN THE MATTER OF DES. CO.
FAMILY COUNSELING ADVISORY BOARD:
At this time the Commission accepted the resignation of Arthur B. Tassie
as Chairman of the Deschutes County Family Counseling Clinic Advisory Board,
as he will be leaving for graduate study at Central Washington State College.
IN THE MATTER OF BID
OPENING ON NORTHWEST MARKET ROAD:
At this time bid opening was conducted by County Clerk Rosemary Patterson
for the asphalt concrete paving on Northwest Market Road. Contract was
officially awarded to Central Oregon Pavers, Inc., which was low bidder at
$8.27 per ton for 6,080 tons.
IN THE MATTER OF LEASE
FROM BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT:
At this time the Commission entered into lease with Bureau of Land
Management (Recreation and Public Purposes Lease OR 9321), leasing property
described as: T. 22 S., R. 10 E., W.M. Sec. 13, NWj SW14 for operation of
sanitary land fill refuse disposal site for period of ten years at rental of
$10.00 per year, effective September 17, 1973.
IN THE MATTER OF TRANSFER
OF FUNDS IN SOLID WASTE FUND:
At this time the Commission resolved that appropriation in the amount of
$6,876.00 be transferred within the Solid Waste Fund from Personal Services
Maintenance Man 11 to Personal Services Maintenance III to create new line item.

IN THE MATTER OF DEPUTY WATERMASTER
AGREEMENT WITH KLAMATH COUNTY:
At this time the Commission entered into agreement with Klamath County
regarding terms of employment of Deputy Watermaster, District No. 11, and the
portion of his pay allocated to Klamath County which is a total of $166-37 for
the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1973, and ending June 30, 1974.
IN THE MATTER OF APPROPRIATIONS TRANSFERS
WITHIN THE GENERAL FUND:
At this time the Commission resolved that the following transfers of
appropriations within the General Fund be made:
$189.76 from Juvenile Department Materials and Services, Foster Care to
Juvenile Department Materials and Services, Witness Fees to create line item
for Witness Fees in Juvenile Department.
$3,740.00 from Juvenile Department Personal Services, Office Associate,
to Juvenile Department Personal Services, Office Worker, as Office Worker
position not budgeted for full-time employee which they now have.
$250.00 from Contingency Fund (01-32-501) to Justice Court Materials
and Services, Office Supplies (01-15-201) as there was added and unexpected
expense in setting up pegboard system of bookkeeping.
$390.00 from Contingency Fund (01-32-501) to Tri -County Home Health
Personal Services, Payroll Taxes (01-21-IOG), to cover unexpected increase in
payroll taxes.
IN THE MATTER OF PERSONAL
ACTION:
At this time the Commission approved the following personal action:
Terminated Donna Walden from Data Processing payroll effective August 7,
1973.
Placed Rosetta Bareis on J -J Boys' Ranch payroll as Educational Consultant
at $4.00 per hour, 40 hours per month effective September 1, 1973.
Placed Peter Perrine on J -J Boys' Ranch payroll as Group Life Supervisor
at $500.00 per month effective September 1, 1973, as merit increase.
Terminated Conrad Hofstedt from Solid Waste payroll effective Sept. 1, 1973.
Terminated James Clark from J -J Boys' Ranch payroll effective Sept. 1, 1973.
Placed Evelyn Gassner on Juvenile payroll as Office Worker at 2.49 per
hour effective September 1, 1973.
Terminated Shawn McVay from Road Dept. payroll effective September 4, 1973.
Terminated Nicholas Shepardson from Road Dept. payroll effective
September 4, 1973.
Terminated Donn Halligan from Road Dept. payroll effective September 6,
