17-532-Order Recorded 11/21/1973L IN THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF THE STATE OF OREGON FOR THE COUNTY OF DESCHUTES In the Matter of Creating an Appeals Board in Conjunction with County Ordinance No. PL -7 ORDER �Ok PAGE 532 This action coming before the Deschutes County Board of Commissioners this 21st day of November, 1973, the Board does resolve as follows: WHEREAS, it is necessary that an Appeal Board be formed for the pur- pose of reviewing requirements of the Uniform Building Code when appealed by persons building within the County of Deschutes, Oregon; WHEREAS, an Appeal Board is required as a part of the Uniform Building Code (Section 204 of Volume 1 of the 1970 Uniform Building Code); NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners of Deschutes County, as a means to comply with the requirement of Section 204 of Volume 1 of the 1970 Uniform Building Code, do order that an Appeals Board be formed as follows: 1) The Board of Appeals shall consist of five regular board members, one of which shall be chosen by the board members as chairman; these members to serve alternating two year terms. Each board member will have alternates designated and accepted, who shall serve in lieu of the regular member in case of his absence. The original board shall be made up of the following members: Charles R. Topping (Alternate: Jan Wick) Chairman - 2 yr. term Art Larsen (Alternate: Dave Waldron) Member - 3 yr. term Harold Baughman (Alternate: G. Liabraaten) " - 3 yr. term Frank Gates (Alternate: Gene Gross) " - 2 yr. term Dave Hellbusch (Alternate: G1e,n:,.Rea ) " - 3 yr. term 2) Periodic meetings of the board will be held. Until further experience is had which may indicate a change, the meetings will be held the first and third Tuesday of each month at 9:00 A.M. in the Commissioners" Conference Room in the Courthouse Annex. If no appeal is made 14 days in advance of a scheduled meeting that meeting will be cancelled unless called to order by the chairman for urgent considerations. . ._ vat 17 PgE 5.r 3) All appeals will be made a minimum of 14 days in advance of a scheduled meeting in order to allow the members to give the appeal full consideration. The appeal will be made in writing on a form provided, and include a fee of $10. 00 which will be refunded if the appeal is acted favorably upon. If the appeal is denied the fee will be forfeited to the Building Department. Resolved by order of the Commission this 21st day of November, 1973. Said resolution to become effective immediately.
