IN THE MATTER OF
ATTENDANCE:
The Commission noted that Bill Raper, Bob Nordby, Art Kohfield, Scotta
Callister, Dave Hoerning, Mr. and Mrs. McCreary, Charles Plummer, John Glover
and Rosemary Patterson were present at the morning session.
IN THE MATTER OF
DEPENDENTS INSURANCE:
At this time the Commission resolved that Deschutes County pay the
dependents insurance coverage for the balance of employees under the General
Fund Budget of Deschutes County, effective August 1, 1973, as Sheriff Dept. and
Tax Dept. employees dependents insurance is paid through their union contract
and the Road Dept. had elected to pay dependents insurance for their employees.
IN THE MATTER OF
TRANSFER OF FUNDS:
At this time the Commission ordered the Deschutes County Treasurer to
transfer $30,000.00 from the General Road Fund to the Solid Waste Fund, pursuant
to ORS 294.460.
At this time the Commission ordered the Deschutes County Treasurer to
transfer $213,500.00 from the Road Fund to the Road Reserve Fund, $5,000.00 from
the Dog License Fund to the General Fund, and $73,500.00 from the Road Fund to
the General Fund in the following amounts: Commissioners & Secretary Salaries
$28,000.00; Sheriff Patrol $10,000.00; County Advertising $3,500.00; Data
Processing $32,000.00.

At this time the Commission approved the following beer license applications

IN THE MATTER OF
TRANSFER OF FUNDS:
At this time the Commission authorized the County Treasurer to transfer
$8,003.75 (State Warrant No. 744) to the City of Redmond for partial payment
for costs incurred by the City in improving Johnson Park swimming pool.
IN THE MATTER OF AGREEMENT
WITH STATE OF OREGON:
At this time the Commission entered into Agreement with State of Oregon
regarding the construction of Little Deschutes River (Montgomery) Bridge on
Federal Aid Secondary Highway No. 793 in Deschutes County.

IN THE MATTER OF
OPENING BIDS ON GAS & DIESEL FUEL:
At this time the bid opening was conducted by County Clerk Rosemary
Patterson for the petroleum needs of Deschutes County for the period: July 1,
1973, to June 30, 1974. Standard Oil, Union 76, Shell, Mobil and ARCO sent their
regrets that they could not submit a bid at this time.
IN THE MATTER OF AMENDMENTS
TO DESCHUTES COUNTY ORDINANCE CG -3:
At this time the Commission, upon unanimous approval at public hearing,
adopted amendments to Deschutes County Ordinance CG -3 (solid waste disposal),
prohibiting all non -water -carried waste disposal facility to be used for dwellings
except at labor camps and places of employment.
IN THE MATTER OF EXCHANGE
AGREEMENT WITH FORT LARAMIE WEST INVESTORS:
At this time the Commission entered into land exchange agreement with
Fort Laramie West Investors regarding construction of Little Deschutes River
Bridge.
IN THE MATTER OF OPENING
BIDS ON DUMP TRUCKS:
At this time the bid opening was conducted by Chief Deputy County Clerk
Agnes Selfors for four new 1973 dump trucks. Oregon White Trucks, Inc. of
Albany, Oregon, was awarded the bid with net amount of $83,870.00 with engine
option and Jake brake for four diesel, 12 -yard dump trucks.
IN THE MATTER OF
PERSONNEL ACTION:
At this time the Commission approved the following personnel action:
Placed Barbara Bruns on Assessors payroll as Office Worker at $385.00 per
month effective July 1, 1973; terminated as of same date.
Placed Catherine Holmes on Medical Nursing and General Health payroll as
Office Assistant at $2.55 per hour effective July 1, 1973 (1, time per week).
Terminated Jay Rhodes from Solid Waste payroll effective July 1, 1973.
Terminated Carrol Sheraden from Road Department effective July 1, 1973.
Placed Linda Taggart on Juvenile payroll as Office Worker at $385.00 per
month, effective July 1, 1973.
Placed Patricia Metelski on District Attorney payroll at $570.00 per
month effective July 1, 1973.
Placed Jess Smith on Dog Control payroll at $599.00 per month effective
July 1, 1973.
Placed Patricia Smith on Juvenile payroll as Counselor -Supervisor at

PETITION ON TUMALO RESERVOIR ROAD:
At this time the Commission received petition from Art Kohfield requesting
Tumalo Reservoir Road be reviewed for possible maintenance and repair. The
petition was referred to the Road Advisory Committee.

EXCHANGE OFFER WITH U.S.F.S.:
At this time the Commission presented Land Exchange Offer to the United
States Forest Service of combination of any two parcels in exchange for selected
National Forest lands. (See Attached)
