At this time the Commission appointed Folmer Bodtker, Bill Smith, and Bill
Ferrel to serve on the County Planning Commission.
IN THE MATTER OF EXCHANGE OF
LANDS WITH U. S. F. S.:
At this time the Commission offered the following described lands:
T. 19 S., R. 11 E.,W.M. in Sec. 22: SW-4LNEJ, NE4SE4, 80 acres; T. 19 S., R.
12 E.,W.M. in Sec. 1: SW;w'NWg, NW4'SW4, 80 acres in exchange for the following
selected National Forest lands:
T. 17 S., R. 12 E.,W.M. in Sec. 22: A strip of land 400 feet in width, the
easterly side of which is the easterly side of the SE! of the NE4 and the NE4 of
the SEk of Section 22, the westerly side of which is a line parallel with the
easterly side of the SE4 of the NE4 and the NE4 of the SEj of Section 22 and
400 feet westerly therefrom, the northern boundary of said strip is a right-of-way
for the North Unit Main Canal irrigation ditch and the southern line is the Butler
Market road; that portion of the WJ of the NWk of Section 23 lying south of the
right-of-way for the North Unit Main Canal irrigation ditch, all being in Town-
ship 17 South, Range 12 E.,W.M. Comprising 23.59 acres, more or less. Subject,
however, to right-of-way for a county road along the east side of the W1 of the
NW14 of Section 23, T. 17 S., R. 12 E.,W.M.
It is agreed that the offered and the selected lands will be examined and
their valuation determined independently by Deschutes County or their representa-
tive and by the Forest Service. Adjustments in offered or selected lands may be
necessary after the examination and evaluation.

TRANSFER OF FUNDS:
At this time the Commission Ordered the Co. Treasurer to make the following
transfers of funds: $73,500 from Road Fund to General Fund; $271,000 from Road
Fund to Road Reserve Fund; $5,000 from Dog License Fund to General Fund; $3,000
from Marine Patrol Fund to Civil Defense Non -Tax Fund.
IN THE MATTER OF
AUTHORIZATION TO BORROW FUNDS:
At this time the Commission authorized the Co. Treasurer to borrow $20,000
from the General Road Fund to pay current Solid Waste expenditures, and $5,000
from the General Road Fund to cover Marine fund expenditures.

and directed to prepare Land Sale No. 308 to sell the real property in the manner
provided by law for not less than the minimum price set opposite each tract, plus

PERSONNEL ACTION:
At this time the Commission approved the following personnel actions:
Termination of Mona J. Pruitt from District Attorney's office effective
Sept. 22, 1972.
Ordered salary adjustments for Abundant Food employees: John Holechek, $2.60
hour; Mary Scripture, $2 hour; Helper (to be hired) $2.50 hour; Extra help for
unloading freight, 1.90 hour, effective October 1, 1972.
Granted David C. Hoerning, Director of Public Works a salary increase to
$1,441.00 per month effective October 1, 1972.
Termination of James L. Clark from J -J Boys Ranch effective October 2, 1972.
Placed Edward Bennell on the J -J Boys Ranch payroll as a night counselor at
$150 per month effective October 1, 1972.
Termination of Nelsyne Jones from Family Counseling Clinic effective Sept.
30, 1972.
Placed James R. Rasmussen on the Planning Department payroll as a Draftsman
1, Step 5, at $570 per month effective October 9, 1972.
Placed Wendy Larson on the Family Counseling Clinic payroll as a Secretary
at $175 half time effective October 5, 1972.
Placed Nelsyne Jones on the District Attorney's payroll as a part-time
secretary at $2.50 per hour effective October 2, 1972.
IN THE MATTER OF EQUIPMENT
RENTAL FOR KNOTT SANITARY LANDFILL:
At this time the Commission authorized the Department of Public Works
rent the necessary equipment for the required time to perform the amount of
excavation necessary to utilize to the greatest extent the area and volume
to properly maintain Knott Sanitary Landfill.

IN THE MATTER OF AUTHORIZATION
TO PURCHASE EQUIPMENT:
At this time the Commission authorized the Road Department to make equipment
purchases from Feenaughty Machinery Co. in the amount of $57,844.
IN THE MATTER OF OILING A
PORTION OF HUNNELL ROAD:
At this time the Commission Ordered the Road Department to oil that portion
of Hunneil Road lying South of the Tumalo Deschutes secondary highway for a
distance of .2 of a mile.
IN THE MATTER OF VACATION OF A
PORTION OF FIFTH STREET (TERREBONNE):
The Commission, on September 6, 1972 held a Hearing on its intention to
vacate a portion of Fifth Street in Terrebonne as described in the Commission
minutes dated August 2, 1972. It is hereby ordered that the portion as described
shall be and the same is hereby vacated as there were no objections at said

At this time the Commission made Resolutions of its intention to establish
county roads,,in Deschutes County, Oregon, described as follows:
CINDER LANE A strip of land for street purposes 60 feet in width, 30 feet each
side of centerline as platted on the official plat of Units 2 and 3 Romaine
Village as recorded in the office of the County Clerk.

each side of centerline as platted on the official plat of Los Serranos as
recorded in the office of the County Clerk.
LOS SERRANOS DRIVE" - A strip of land for street purposes 60 feet in width, 30
