We, the Board of Commissioners of Deschutes County, Oregon,
hereby offer the following described lands:
T. 19 S., R. li E.,W.M.
in Section 22; SW4NE4, NE4SE4 - 80 acres
T. 19 S., R. 12 E.,W.M.
in Section I; SW4NW4, NW4SW4 - 80 acres
in exchange for the following selected National Forest lands:
T. 17 S., R. 12 E.,W.M.
in Section 22
A strip of land 400 feet in width, the easterly side of which
is the easterly side of the SE4 of the NE4 and the NE4 of the
SE4 of Section 22, the westerly side of which is a line parallel
with the easterly side of the SE4 of the NE4 and the NE4 of the
SE4 of.Section 22 and 400 feet westerly therefrom, the northern
boundary of said strip is a right-of-way for the North Unit Main
Canal irrigation ditch and the southern line is the Butler Market
road; that portion of the W# of the NW4 of Section 23 lying south
of the right-of-way for the North Unit Main Canal irrigation
ditch, all being in Township 17 South, Range 12 E.,W.M. Compris-
ing 23.59 acres, more or less.
Subject, however, to right-of-way for a county road along the
east side of the W4 of the NW4 of Section 23, T. 17 S., R. 12
E.,W.M.
It is agreed that the offered and the selected lands will be
examined and their valuation determined independently by Deschutes
County or their representative and by the Forest Service. Adjustments
in offered or selected lands may be necessary after the examination and
evaluation.
The County accepts responsibility for clearing title and the form
of the deed, and approves all reservations and outstanding rights includ-
ing those for oil, gas, and minerals, on both selected and offered lands;
the Secretary's regulations if applicable; provisions of cutting agree-
ments or reservations if applicable.
Deschutes County is anxious to proceed with the exchange as outlined,
subject to the necessary examinations and appraisal.
