Placed Phyllis Sears on the District Court payroll as a one-half time
Clerk Typist I, Step 2 at a salary of $150 per month effective August 18, 1972.
Placed Cliff C. Cook on the Abundant Food payroll as a Helper at $1.75
per hour effective July 28, 1972.
Placed Van Honeman on the Circuit Court payroll as a Court Reporter at
$962.49 per month effective September I, 1972.
Termination of Sybil Ralston as Switchboard Operator effective August 31,
1972.

At this time the Commission authorized the Dept. of Public Works to extend
their paving contract with White Construction Co. to include the paving of
Larson, Billadeau, and Rickard Roads with a double prime coat.

At this time the Commission acting upon the petition of Kathryn P. Evans,
Rt. 2, Box 565, Bend, Oregon, resolved to vacate a portion of Sixth St. in
Tumalo, to -wit:
All that portion of Sixth St. lying between Block 20 and 23 in the
Townsite of Laidlaw (Tumalo), as platted according to the official
plat thereof on file in the office of the County Clerk.
At this time the Commission acting upon the petition of Gary E. b Dorothy
M. Lewis, and Ramon L. $ Margretta B. Huff, Bend, Oregon, resolved to vacate a
portion of Myrtlewood St. in Bend, to -wit:
Beginning at the intersection of the northerly R/W line of Craven Rd.
with the easterly R/W line of Myrtlewood St; thence N 0043134" E along

that Wednesday, October 4, 1972, at 10:00 A.M. Pacific Daylight Time, at the Co.

And it is Ordered that the Co. Roadmaster or his duly qualified deputy shall
give notice of these Resolutions by posting true copies thereof, properly certi-
fied to as such by the Co. Clerk, at the place of holding Co. Court and also at
three public places in the vicinity of said proposed roads 30 days previous to
the consideration of these Resolutions by the Board of Comm. notifying all per-
sons concerned that said Resolutions will be considered and passed upon by this
Board at a meeting on the 4th day of October, 1972, at which time the Board will
consider any objections or remonstrances which may be filed on account of said
proposed roads.

BID OPENING:
At this time the bid opening was conducted by County Clerk, Rosemary
Patterson, for 4,500 tons of asphaltic concrete. The bid was awarded to low
bidder, Bend Aggregate & Paving Co, for $8.69 per ton or $39,105 total.
IN THE MATTER OF
QUITCLAIM DEED:
At this time the Commission issued a Quitclaim Deed to John M. and June
McCarthy for the following real property situated in Deschutes County, Oregon:
That portion of Lot 11, Blk. 45, Riverside Addition to Bend, lying
East of the 1970 location of Studio Road.
The true and actual consideration for this transfer is none.
