At this time the Commission Ordered that Fryrear Butte Road be designated

TRANSFER OF FUNDS:
At this time the (;ommission Ordered the County Treasurer to transfer $800
from the Dog Control Fund to the Pickup Reserve Fund and Crematorium Fund.

At this time the Commission approved the following applications for beer

ACTION:

At this time the Commission approved the termination of Ernest Kyler,
Jailor, from the Sheriff's Department effective 12:00 noon, February 17, 1972.
At this time the Commission approved the request of Charles Plummer to
increase the salary of Jane McVay to $447 per month effective February I, 1972;
her six -months probationary period being completed January 19, 1972.
At this time the Commission approved the request of F. C. Sholes to
increase the salaries of Lois Pauley and Linda Blair, Accounting Clerks in the
Tax Dept. to $405 per month effective March 15, 1972; both having completed
satisfactory probation periods on that date.
At this time the Commission approved the request of Russell Q. Chase to
place Patricia J. Morehouse on the payroll of the Veterans' Service as a
Secretary substitute at a salary of $2.50 per hour.
IN THE MATTER OF APPOINTMENT
OF VETERANS' SERVICE DIRECTOR:
At this time the Commission appointed Russell Q. Chase as Veterans'
Service Director for Deschutes and Jefferson Counties effective March 1, 1972.
Mr. Chase replaces Hobart Starr who has retired due to physical disability.
IN THE MATTER OF AMMENDMENT OF
POLICY FOR SALE OF COUNTY LANDS:
At this time the Commission ammended the Order of April 7, 1971, in the
matter of Establishing Policy For Sale of County Lands, as follows:
1. At the time of the request to place County lands up for auction sale,
a deposit of $20 shall be made for costs of publication of description
of property for sale and cost of deed - which shall be refunded if
applicant is an unsuccessful bidder.
6. All installment contracts will carry an interest rate not to exceed
eight percent (8%) on the unpaid balance which will be the true
annual interest rate.
IN THE MATTER OF RANGE
IMPROVEMENT LEASE:
At this time the Commission entered into a ten-year range improvement
lease with Herb Hunt for the SO Sec. I, Twp. 17 S., R. II E.,W.M.
IN THE MATTER OF
PURCHASE AGREEMENT:
At this time the Commission entered into an agreement with Dorothy Coats
Smith for the following described real property situated in Deschutes County,
State of Oregon, to wit:
NEISE4 Sec. 18, T. 15 S., R. 11 E.,W.M., excepting that portion
lying W. of the Ely. R/W line of the Cloverdale Mkt. Rd. and
including a small tract of land in the SEkNEk of Sec. 18 desc.
as follows: all that portion of the SE4NEj lying bet. the S.
R/W of Cloverdale Mkt. Rd. and the S. line of Sec. 18. This
tract being approx. 665' long by 65 to 75' wide and contain.
approx. 1.0 acres more or less. And excepting transmission line
easements as recorded in Vol 173, p. 654, Des. Co. Deeds. And
less the dedicated public way of the Fryrear Butte Road as per-
taining to this parcel. 40 acres more or less.
for the sum of $15,100.00, to be paid in the following manner: $1,510.00 in
cash, and the balance in 120 equal monthly payments of $157.81 including
interest at 7%.

At this time the Commission authorized the Director of Public Works to
add cinder base on the Pengra-Huntington Road from Paulina Prairie North to
South Century Drive, an approximate distance of 5.5 miles.
IN THE MATTER OF
PERMITS GRANTED:
At this time the Commission granted permit #10422, #10424, Des. Mkt. Rd.,
and Huntington Rd. to Pacific Northwest Bell to construct buried cable on or
across Deschutes County right-of-way.
IN THE MATTER OF INSTALLING
ELECTRIC UNDERGROUND CABLE:
At this time the Commission granted two permits to Midstate Cooperative
Inc. to construct electric underground cable on or across Deschutes County
right-of-way.
IN THE MATTER OF
CONSTRUCTING AN ACCESS:
At this time the Commission granted a permit to Ted Lyster to construct
an access on or across Deschutes County right-of-way.
