IN THE MATTER OF PERSONNEL ACTION: At this time the Commission noted the termination of services of Ray Schenewerk as jailer effective February I, 1971. At this time the Commission noted the termination of services of Ruth Martin and Phyllis Sears in the Sheriff's Tax Department effective February 26, 1971. At this time the Commission noted that due to a reduction in forest revenues the following termination of services were necessary in the Deschutes County Road Department: Harry (pock, John Webb, David Plath, and Hugo Fisher effective March 1, 1971. Raymond Modjeski will be terminated effective April I, 1971. At this time the Commission approved the request of F. C. Sholes to place the name of Gerald Gibson on the Sheriff's Department payroll as jailer at a salary of $443.00 per month effective February 8, 1971. At this time the Commission approved the request of W. F. Jones to place the name of Linda Lee Davis on the Juvenile Department payroll as half-time secretary at the rate of $185.00 per month effective February 22, 1971. At this time the Commission ordered the County Clerk to place the name of A. P. Freitas on the payroll as Custodian at $140.00 per month effective February 16, 1971. At this time the Commission approved the request of F. C. Sholes to place the name of Gladys Barfknecht on the Sheriff's Tax Department payroll as Accounting Clerk at a salary of $387.00 per month effective March 1, 1971. IN THE MATTER OF PERMITS GRANTED: At this time the Commission granted the following permits: #17713, #17866, #78121, #78124, #78128, #78132, and #78141 to Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone to construct buried cable on or across Deschutes County right-of-way. -3- } V 1.4 PAG- 51-0 IN THE MATTER OF THE BAKER OPTION: On February 22, 1971 the Board of Commissioners were notified by letter of the intension of Mr. & Mrs. Newel P. Baker to exercise their option to purchase certain real property recorded in Volume 11, page 623, Commissioners Journal, Deschutes County Oregon. The letter further stated that the Bakers were prepared to tender the full purchase price in cash upon advice that a deed was forthcoming from the County. On March 1, 1971, in a letter addressed to Mr. & Mrs. Newel P. Baker (copy to Mr. Vernon Robinson, attorney for the Bakers) the Commissioners, upon the advice of the District Attorney, denied the Bakers request, and refused to acknowledge the option as valid. (Copy of letters attached.) IN THE MATTER OF REFUND OF TAXES: At this time the Commission ordered F. C. Carl Spencer to move A. J. Powell to move At this time the Commission granted a permit to Marlon Jannuzzi to install a pipeline transverse on or across Deschutes County right-of-way. At this time the Commission granted a permit to Terrebonne Domestic Water District to install a pipeline on or across Deschutes County right-of- way. IN THE MATTER OF STUDIO ROAD: The Commission, on February 22, 1971, held a Hearing and beings there were no objections nor remonstrances, did Order and Decree that Studio Road be established as described in a previous Resolution dated 18th day of January, 1971, as a County Road in Deschutes County. The legal description being given in the Commission Minutes dated January 6, 1971 in said Resolu- tion. IN THE MATTER OF VACATION OF SECOND STREET IN TERREBONNE: At this time the Commission acting upon the petition of a freeholder residing in Terrebonne resolved to vacate the following described road commonly referred to as Second Street, to -wit: -4- Second Street between "C" and Central Streets in the Town of Terrebonne formerly known as Hillman according to the official plat thereof. It is, therefore, ordered that copies of this Resolution, duly certified to as such by the County Clerk, shall be posted in three places along the road to be vacated, and that a copy of this Resolution be placed on the Bulletin Board in the entrance of the Deschutes County Courthouse, Bend, Oregon; that Wednesday, March 17, 1971 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Standard Time, at the County Courtroom, County Courthouse, Bend, Oregon, be and the same is hereby fixed as the time and place for the hearing of objections, if any therebe, why said portion of the road should not be vacated as a portion of the Deschutes County Road System. IN THE MATTER OF TRANSFER OF RESTAURANT LICENSE: At this time the Commission approved the transfer of Restaurant Class A license from Century Bar -B -Q to King's Annex, Inc.
