H. Phipps, John Sullivan, Lorin Morgan, and Carl Klippel were present at the morning session. IN THE MATTER OF PETITION FOR VACATION OF PORTION OF STREET IN TUMALO: At this time the Commission received a petition from property owners in Tumalo requesting vacation of a portion of 6th street between Wharton Ave. and Riverview, involving approximately I block between blocks 21 and 22. -3- IN THE MATTER OF APPROVAL OF 671 COMPREHENSIVE WATER & SEWAGE VOL 1 _ PAGF' PLANNING STUDY: At this time the Commission made a Resolution approving the Compre- hensive Water and Sewerage Planning Study as submitted by CH2M, and further approved final payment for this study by Farmers Home Administration. IN THE MATTER OF APPOINTMENT TO PLANNING COMMISSION: At this time the Commission approved the appointment of Jack Defoe to the Deschutes County Planning Commission. IN THE MATTER OF THE PROPOSED FORMATION OF LAPINE RURAL FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT: At this time the Commission Ordered and proclaimed the formation of said District. It appearing that a special election was held on May II, 1971, and there were a majority of votes cast in favor of said District. At said election, five candidates receiving the highest number of votes were elected directors. IN THE MATTER OF REFUND OF TAXES: At this time the Commission ordered F. C. Sholes, Tax Collector, to make the following refund of taxes: Vivian Hansen Double payment $8.90 IN THE MATTER OF RESALE OF COUNTY -OWNED PROPERTY: WHEREAS, Deschutes County, Oregon is the owner of the real property described (see attached) and the Board of County Commissioners deems it for the best interest of said County to sell this real property: THEREFORE, Be it Ordered, that the Sheriff be and he hereby is, authorized and directed to prepare Land Sale No. 305 to sell the real pro- perty in the manner provided by law for not less than the minimum price set opposite each tract, plus cost of advertising and recording the deed. Said sale shall be held on the 4th day of June, 1971, at the hour of ten a.m. at the front door of the courthouse. IN THE MATTER OF AUTHORIZATION OF CONSULTING ENGINEER: At this time the Commission authorized Al Bettas, a consulting engineer, to make application for federal funds to provide County Comprehensive Solid Waste plan. IN THE MATTER OF PERSONNEL ACTION: At this time the Commission approved the request of Walt Genes to place Gerald Hamm on the payroll as sick leave replacement for custodian at $1.96 per hour, working a six -hour shift on May 12, 13, 17, 18, 21, and 22, 1971. At this time the Commission approved the request of F. C. Sholes to place Nancy Klatt on the payroll for the Sheriff's Tax Department as an Accounting Clerk, starting May 10, 1971 at a salary of $387.00 per month. IN THE MATTER OF PERMITS GRANTED: At this time the Commission granted permit #27678, and #78246 to Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone to construct buried cable on or across Deschutes County right-of-way. -4- IN THE MATTER OF PERMIT TO MOVE A r voi. 14 PACE 67? BUILDING: At this time the Commission issued a permit to Roger Comstock to move a building on or across Deschutes County right-of-way. IN THE MATTER OF INSTALLING PIPELINES: At this time the Commission granted a permit to Cascade Natural Gas Corp. to install a pipeline on or across Deschutes County right-of-way. At this time the Commission granted a permit to Frank Zomprelli to install a pipeline on or across Deschutes County right-of-way. At this time the Commission granted a permit to Donald Fahey to install a pipeline on or across Deschutes County right-of-way. At this time the Commission granted a permit to Cascade Natural Gas Corp. to install a pipeline on or across Deschutes County right-of-way.
