PERSONNEL IN
ASSESSOR'S OFFICE:
At this time the Commission approved the addition of Cecil K. Zemke,
Appraiser, to the staff of the Assessor at a monthly salary of $675.00
effective February I, 1971.
At this time the Commission approved the request that the name of
Brenda Crozier be added to the Assessor's payroll at $325.00 per month
effective February 5, 1971.
At this time the Commission approved the request that the name of
Sheila Jensen be added to the Assessor's payroll at $325.00 per month
effective February 8, 1971.
At this time the Commission approved the removal of Beverly Roten's
name from the Assessor's payroll effective February 12, 1971.
IN THE MATTER OF
MILAGE ALLOWANCE:
At this time the Commission approved an allowance of .10¢ per mile
to employees using their own vehicle for county business.
IN THE MATTER OF
BAKER LAND SALE
REQUEST:
The Board of Commissioners along with the District Attorney and the
Planning Administrator met with Newel Baker and his attorney on Thursday,
February 4, 1971 at I o'clock to discuss the request to put up the acreage
(under option) for auction sale. The request was denied by the Commissioners.
IN THE MATTER OF
ESTABLISHMENT OF
PONDEROSA STREET &
GRANITE DRIVE,
CINDER LANE,
PINE CONE DRIVE,
and GRANITE DRIVE:
The Commission, on February 8, 1971, held a Hearing and beings there
were no objections nor remonstrances, did Order and Decree that Ponderosa
Street & Granite Drive, Cinder Lane, Pine Cone Drive, and Granite Drive be
established as described in previous Resolutions dated January II, 1971 as
County Roads in Deschutes County. The legal descriptions being given in the
Commission Minutes dated January 6, 1971 in said Resolutions.
IN THE MATTER OF
PERSONNEL ACTION:
At this time the Commission approved the request of Charles L. Plummer,
Roadmaster, to increase the salary of Tom Windus, Shop Foreman, to $715.00
per month effective February I, 1971.

VACATION OF STREETS
IN LA PINE:
At this time the Commission resolved that: (1) Eighth Street from
the East line of Highway 97 to the West line of Huntington County Road
which is the East line of La Pine Townsite, (2) Morson Street from the
south line of Eighth Street to the North line of Ninth Street, (3) Stilwell
Street from the South line of Eighth Street to the North line of Ninth
Street, (4) Harriman Street from the North line of Eighth Street to the
West line of Huntington County Road, (5) the Alley thru Block 37 of La Pine
from the South line of Eighth Street to the North line of Ninth Street, (6)
the Alley thru Block 24 of La Pine from the South line of Eighth Street to
the North line of Ninth Street, (7) the Alley thru block 23 of La Pine from
the South line of Eighth Street to the North line of Ninth Street all accord-
ing to the official plat thereof be vacated. And it is further ordered that
Charles L. Plummer, Deschutes County Roadmaster, post notices of the proposed
vacations in three (3) conspicuous places and that the date of hearing shall
be Friday, March 5, 1971, at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Standard Time, in the Deschutes
County Courthouse.
IN THE MATTER OF
VACATION OF A ROAD:
At this time the Commission acting upon the petition of Marie Williamson
resolved to vacate the following described road commonly referred to as
Kidder Road, to -wit:
Located in the NEµ NWµ and SEµ NWµ all in Section 7, Township
14 South, Range 13 E.,W.M.
Beginning at a point 15 feet east of the W 1/16 between Section
6 and Section 7; thence South 120 feet; thence South 150 East
312 feet; thence South 336 feet; thence South 200 West 200 feet;
thence South 480 feet; thence South 030 East 300 feet; thence
South 400 East 756 feet; thence South 300 East 138 feet to a
point on the northern right-of-way of the County Diatomite Road
#4. Access to the above described area is now provided by the
McCoin Road, a paved County Road.
It is therefore ordered that copies of this Resolution, duly certified to as
such by the County Clerk, shall be posted in three places along the road to
be vacated, and that a copy of this Resolution be placed on the Bulletin
Board in the entrance of the Deschutes County Courthouse, Bend, Oregon; that
Tuesday, March 9, 1971, at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Standard Time, at the County
Courtroom, County Courthouse, Bend, Oregon, be and the same is hereby fixed
as the time and place for the hearing of objections, if any therebe, why said
portion of the road should not be vacated as a portion of the Deschutes
County Road System.

BOARD RECOMMENDATIONS:
At this time the Commission reviewed the conclusions and recommendations
of the Road Advisory Review Board on the following: 35th Street in Redmond
Heights Subdivision, vacation of a portion of Jordan Road, and Jack Pine
Loop near La Pine. (the full report is attached)

A LEASE ON COUNTY LAND:
At this time the Commission approved a grazing lease on county land
