Mehren were present at the morning session.
IN THE MATTER OF
ROAD DISTRICT#I:
At this time it was moved by Commissioner McCann and seconded by Com-
missioner Peden that the Board of Commissioners authorize establishment of
Road District #I, and appointed the following as directors: Lester M. Guss,
Lloyd B. Baker, and E. C. Gothard.
IN THE MATTER OF APPOINTMENTS
TO ASSESSOR'S BOARD OF REVIEW:
At this time the Commission appointed Don Miltenberger, of Alfalfa,
and Don Williams, of Terrebonne, to serve on the Assessor's Board of Review
for two-year terms expiring August, 1973.
IN THE MATTER OF APPOINTMENT
TO PLANNING COMMISSION:
At this time the Commission appointed Jerry Crafton of Redmond to serve
on the Deschutes County Planning Commission for a four-year term expiring
July I, 1975.
IN THE MATTER OF APPOINTMENTS
TO WELFARE ADVISORY BOARD:
At this time the Commission appointed the following persons to the
Deschutes County Welfare Advisory Board for terms expiring as indicated:
Carl Degner, 6/30/72; Ramona Harms, 6/30/73; Grace McCusker, 6/30/74; and
Jeanie Crane, 6/30/75.
IN THE MATTER OF HOME HEALTH AGENCY
AGREEMENT WITH CROOK COUNTY:
At this time the Commission entered into an agreement with Crook
County for the services of the Tri -County Home Health Agency for the total
sum of $3,724.32 payable to Deschutes County in equal quarterly payments of
$931.08. The term of this contract is from July I, 1971 to July I, 1972.
IN THE MATTER OF
WATERMASTER AGREEMENTS:
At this time the Commission entered into an Agreement with the Crook
County Court, the Jefferson County Court, and the Klamath County Court,
respectively, to the terms of employment of the Deputy Watermaster, District
No. II, primarily for the convenience of compensation for said Deputy Water -
master in said Water District, effective July I, 1971 to June 30, 1972, unless
terminated by mutual agreement of all parties concerned in Water District
No. II.
IN THE MATTER OF
REFUND OF TAXES:
At this time the Commission ordered F. C. Sholes, Tax Collector to
make the following refund of taxes:
William B. Webber, Travelers Ins. Co., & State Finance - Overpayment
of $17,152.53.

PERSONNEL ACTION:

At this time the Commission approved the request of Louis Selken to
place Mona Jean Pruitt on full-time employment as a Legal Secretary in the
office of the District Attorney at a yearly salary of $5,697.00 beginning
August I, 1971.
At this time the Commission approved the request of Rosemary Patterson
to place Jeanie D. Crane on the payroll as a Clerk Typist Three in the Clerk's
office at a salary of $385.00 per month effective August 16, 1971.
At this time the Commission approved the request of Hobart Starr to
place Ivy Welsh on !-day employment August 17, thru August 20, with termina-
tion after August 20, 1971.
At this time the Commission approved the request of Hobart Starr to
place Betty Clark on the payroll as a Secretary II in the Veterans Service
Department at a salary of $405.00 effective August 11, 1971.
At this time the Commission approved the request of Charles Whitchurch
to place Charles Mattox on the payroll as a Conciliatory Counselor in the
Family Counseling Clinic at a rate of $10.00 per hour effective April I, 1971.
IN THE MATTER OF
DEEDS OF COUNTY -
OWNED LANDS:
At this time the Commission executed the following Deeds for county -
owned lands:
Deschutes County to Thomas E. Ray & Carolyn J. Ray: SE4SE4 Sec. 10,
less county road right-of-way 60' in width for the Ferguson Road, Twp. 18 S.,
Range 12 E.,W.M. for the sum of $8,200.00.
Deschutes County to Gard Erickson: Lots II and 12, Block 23, Townsite
of Redmond for the sum of $1,712.80.
Deschutes County to Robert L. Coats and Joyce E. Coats, husband & wife:
That portion of NE41SW4 lying North of Johnson Road in Sec. 6, Twp. 17 S.,
Range 12 E.,W.M. (approx. 25.2 acres) for the sum of $4,500.00.
Deschutes County to Robert L. Coats and Joyce E. Coats, husband & wife:
That portion of SW,=,NE4 and that portion of NW1,SE4 lying between Johnson and
Reservoir Roads in Sec. 6, Twp. 17 S., Range 12, E.,W.M. (4.88 acres, more
or less) for the sum of $2,500.00.
IN THE MATTER OF
PAVING McCAFFERY ROAD:
At this time the Commission authorized the County Roadmaster to proceed
with the necessary preparatory work in order for this project to be added to
the County's oiling contract with Babler Brothers. Said project to be an
0-9 penetration oil mat. Estimated cost to be approximately $6,000.00.
IN THE MATTER OF
FAS 325 & FAS 887:
At this time the Commission applied to the State Highway Commission
for the extension of FAS Route 325, Butler Mkt. to Deschutes Junction; and
Route 887, Twp. line 16 S. from US 97N to old Redmond highway.
IN THE MATTER OF
CONSTRUCTING AN ACCESS:
At this time the Commission granted a permit to Ted Smothers to con-
struct an access on or across Deschutes County right-of-way.
At this time the Commission granted a permit to Charles P. Leaman to
construct an access on or across Deschutes County right-of-way.

move buildings on or across Deschutes County right-of-way.
