Olmstead, Herb Hunt, Dr. David Spence, and Peg Iseli were present at the morning session. IN THE MATTER OF APPOINTMENTS TO BOARD OF EQUALIZATION: At this time the Commission reappointed Donald Hinman and Wallace Cleve- land to serve on the Board of Equalization for the 1972 session. -3- va 14 wf 971 IN THE MATTER OF PBX AGREEMENT: At this time the Commission entered into an agreement with Pacific North- west Bell Telephone Co. for the installation of a 300 Series PBX system in the Deschutes County Courthouse. IN THE MATTER OF PROPERTY REDEMPTION: At this time the Commission approved the redemption by Pearl Lechner of WiSW4SE4NEkSWµ of Section 4, Township 22 S. Range 10 E.,W.M. for the sum of $106.01 being the amount of delinquent taxes, interest, and penalty to Sept. 15, 1971. County deed issued to Pearl Lechner, Box 36, LaPine, Oregon 97739. IN THE MATTER OF ORDINANCE NO. PL -6: A Hearing was held on August 25, 1971 at 10:00 a.m. to amend Article I, Sec. 109, and Article 5, Sec. 501 of the Deschutes County Subdivision Ordinance No. PL -2, providing for definitions, filing procedures and authority to estab- lish subdivision filing fees. Commissioner McCann moved adoption of the ammendment to Subdivision Ordinance PL -2 be made with ammendment to be known as PL -6. Seconded by Commissioner Peden. IN THE MATTER OF MOTOR VEHICLE TAX LEVY: At this time the Commission Resolved and Ordered that a tax of $10 be levied on each registration or renewal of registration of a vehicle within the county. One-half of the amount so collected, pursuant to Chapter 772, Oregon Laws 1971 may be distributed among cities within the county according to the proportion its population bears with the population of all cities within the county. IN THE MATTER OF ESTABLISHING THE CENTRAL OREGON INTERGOVERNMENTAL COUNCIL: At this time the Commission made a Resolution approving and agreeing to "The Articles of Agreement" establishing the Central Oregon Intergovern- mental Council. IN THE MATTER OF AUTHORIZATION: At this time the Commission authorized Deputy Sheriff, Chris Williams, to sign for surplus commodities for Search & Rescue purposes. IN THE MATTER OF REFUND OF TAXES: At this time the Commission ordered F. C. Sholes, Tax Collector to make the following refund of taxes: J. Edward McNeil Overpayment $ 3.10 Everett C. B Restau. approved the following application for Rt. I, Box 97, Redmond Geo. Abbas At this time the Commission approved the request of Charles Plummer to place Edward Kane on the payroll as a Caretaker at the Arnold Refuse Pit at a salary of $171.23 effective August 11, 1971. At this time the Commission approved the request of Hobert Starr to pay Ivy Welsh for 3# days of vacation time not taken. At this time the Commission approved the termination of Robert Foote from the Assessor's staff effective August 17, 1971. IN THE MATTER OF VACATION OF A PUBLIC ROAD R/W: The Commission on August 27, 1971 held a Hearing on its intention to vacate a portion of Sec. 14, Township 17 S., Range II E.,W.M. as described in the Commission minutes dated July 21, 1971. It is hereby ordered that the property as described shall be and the same are hereby vacated as there were no objections at said Hearing. IN THE MATTER OF ESTABLISHMENT OF PORTION OF WEST PUMICE: The Commission, on August 27, 1971, held a Hearing and beings there were no objections nor remonstrances, did Order and Decree that a portion of West Pumice be established as described in a previous Resolution dated July 23, 1971, as a County Road in Deschutes County. The legal description being given in the Commission minutes dated July 21, 1971 in said Resolution. IN THE MATTER OF VACATION OF A PUBLIC ROAD R/W: At this time the Commission acting upon the petition of Pika Inc., 909 N. 6th St., Redmond, Oregon, resolved to vacate a portion of Sec. 32, Twp. 14 S., Range 13, E.,W.M. to -wit: The Southerly 30 feet of SEJNEk Sec. 32, Twp. 14 S., Range 13 E.,W.M. and the Northerly 30 feet of NEkSE4 Sec. 32, Twp. 14 S., Range 13 E.,W.M. It is, therefore, ordered that copies of this Resolution, duly certified to as such by the County Clerk, shall be posted in three (3) places along the road to be vacated, and that a copy of this Resolution be placed on the Bulletin Board in the entrance of the Deschutes County Courthouse, Bend, Oregon; that Monday!,, September 20, 1971, at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time, at the County Courtroom, County Courthouse, Bend, Oregon, be and the same is hereby fixed as the time and place for the hearing of objections, if any therebe, why said portion of the road should not be vacated as a portion of the Deschutes County Road System. -5- IN THE MATTER OF VOL 14 m, F- 97:� CONSTRUCTING AN ACCESS: At this time the Commission granted a permit to Orvin V. Rollefson to construct an access on or across Deschutes County right-of-way. IN THE MATTER OF INSTALLATION OF WATER LINE: At this time the Commission granted a permit to Jack Robinson 8 Sons, Inc. to install a I" water line on or across Deschutes County right-of-way. At this time the Commission granted a permit to Newel P. Baker to install a 2" water line across Plainview Road. There being no further business, Commission session was adjourned.
