The Commission at this time ordered the Deschutes County Clerk to
make the following salary adjustments:
As of February I, 1970, Agnes Selfors to $425.00 and Jeraldine Schutte
to $410.00.

IN THE MATTER OF
REDMOND INDUSTRIAL AREA:
Commissioner G. W. McCann moved to lift the Moratorium as ordered
on Court Day, May 7, 1969, on industrial lands in the Redmond area according
to ORS 271.310, and adopt a policy of a long term leasing of these lands;
seconded and so Ordered.
IN THE MATTER OF
DESCHUTES COUNTY EMER-
GENCY SERVICES:
The Commission at this time resolved that the Deschutes County Civil
Defense Agency be hereby designated as "Deschutes County Emergency Services"
and set forth definition, duties and powers of this office.
IN THE MATTER OF
PERSONNEL IN
ASSFSSOR'S OFFICE:
The Commission at this time ordered that Maedell Jackson be put on
the payroll in the Assessor's Office, effective February 4, 1970, with a
salary of $325.00 per month.
IN THE MATTER OF
ENGINEERING AID:
The Commission at this time approved the recommendation of the Director
of Public Works Arthur Zibolski, in that Mr. Joe Modjeski will be working
for the Department of Public Works; his salary will be $525.00 per month,
coming out of the Road Department Budget from February I, 1970 thru June 30,
1970.
IN THE MATTER OF
FENCING AGREEMENT:
At this time the Commission made and entered into an Agreement with
Charles Haynes Fencing Contractors to erect fences along the northerly
right-of-way of State Highway 126, from approximately the center of Sec. 15
to the east line of Section 14, all in Township 15 S., Range 13 E.W.M. The
County shall pay the Contractor for said labor at the rate of $345.00 per
mile of fence completed in accordance with this agreement and accepted by
the Engineer; completion date for the work shall be February 27, 1970,
barring extreme weather conditions or other adverse factors deemed to be
beyond the control of the Contractor or the County.
IN THE MATTER OF
HERBICIDES BID
OPENING:
On February 6, 1970, at 10:00 a.m., the Deschutes County Clerk opened
bids for herbicides and chemicals for the Weed Control program. After all
the bids were read, the Commission turned over these bids to the Weed Control
Supervisor Darrell Anderson to come up with a total so that the County Com-
mission could make a decision. On February 13, 1970, the Commission sent a
letter to Mr. Anderson with their approval of his recommendations for the
herbicide bids and asked him to notify the successful bidders of each herbi-
cide.
IN THE MATTER OF
SECRETARY:
At this time the Commission, upon the recommendation of Sheriff Sholes,
ordered the Deschutes County Clerk to place the name of Dorothy Evans on the
payroll, as of February 9, 1970, as Secretary in the Sheriff's Department,
at a salary of $300.00 per month.

The Commission at this time, upon the recommendation of Charles L.
Plummer, Roadmaster, ordered that Robert Reif be given a step raise, after
his ninety day probationary, to $550.00 per month, effective February 1, 1970.
IN THE MATTER OF
CUSTODIAN:
At this time the Commission, upon the request of Walt Genes, Custodian
ordered that Leo Carter be placed on the payroll as part-time custodian, at
a salary of $140.00 per month, effective February 16, 1970.
There being no further business, the Commission adjourned.
