The Court at this time executed a Redemption Deed in consideration
of Five thousand two hundred ninety-three and 73/100 dollars ($5,293.73) paid
by John D. Lewis, the record owner subject to tax foreclosure of the within
described property, to -wit:
That part of Tracts 13 and 14 Reed Highway Acreage, sec. 2, in
the SWANE4 of Section 8, Township 18 South, Range 12 E.W.M.
This deed is made pursuant to the powers vested in the County Court by virtue
of ORS 275.180 In consideration of the delinquent tax assessments accrued
together with interest at the rate of 6% thereon.

The Court at this time ordered the Deschutes County Clerk to
place the name of Harold Kenteer on the Road Department payroll at a salary
of $500.00 per month, effective September 8, 1969.
IN THE MATTER OF
SECRETARY IN THE
JUVENILE DEPARTMENT:
The Court at this time ordered the Deschutes County Clerk to place
the name of Mona Pruitt on the payroll in the Juvenile Department as part-time
Secretary at a salary of $175.00 per month, effective September 2, 1969.
IN THE MATTER OF
PURCHASE OF
EQUIPMENT•
The Court at this time authorized Charles L. Plummer, Roadmaster,
to purchase 1 #12 Cat Grader and I Front End Loader, Cat Model 950.1
IN THE MATTER OF
SALARY INCREASE:
The Court upon the recommendation of Lorin D. Morgan, Planning
Director, ordered the Clerk to promote Leslie Penholiow to the second step
of "Clerk Typist II", as she has completed her three months probationary
period satisfactorily.
IN THE MATTER OF
LETTER•
At this time the Court read a letter from Mr. Richard Atchison,
Lapine, and asked the Deschutes County Road Advisory Committee to review and
give a report not later than next Wednesday, September 10, 1969 on the following
roads: Second and Morson in LaPine and Stillwell and First, making recom-
mendations to the Court at that time.
1N THE MATTER OF
GARBAGE DISPOSAL:
The Court at this time accepted the offer of Central Oregon Disposal
Service, Redmond, for monthly fee of $60.00 for garbage disposal, effective
September 1, 1969, for the balance of the fiscal year to June 30, 1970.
IN THE MATTER OF
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT:
At this time the Court unanimously approved the establishment of
a Public Works Department for Deschutes County which shallinclude the county's
Road Department, Engineering Department, Weed Control Department, Solid Waste
Disposal and Parks and Recreation Department, and such other public works
departments as may from time to time be advisable. it is further ordered that
a Registered Engineer be hired to administer the above mentioned Public Works
Department, with the engineer responsible solely to the Court and department
heads responsible to the Administrator of Public Works. Commissioner McCann
further moved applicants be notified for interview for this position. Carried.
IN THE MATTER OF
OILING PROJECT:
At this time the Court approved the Baker Road in Deschutes River
Woods and the Third Street in LaPine as this summer's oiling projects.
IN THE MATTER OF
NEWSPAPER DESIGNATION:
The Court at this time designated The Bulletin as the newspaper to
publish the Personal Property Foreclosure list.

APPOINTMENT:
The Court at this time appointed Matt Perrlot to the Planning
Commission for a term which will expire July 17, 1970.
The Court further appointed Harry Waldron, Budget Advisory member,
to the Board of Equalization for the coming year.
IN THE MATTER OF
TRANSFER OF FUNDS:
The Court at this time ordered the Deschutes County Treasurer
to transfer $60,000.00 from the Land Sales Fund to the General Fund as a
necessity exists to meet the current operating bills until the November tax
turnover.
IN THE MATTER OF
CONTRACT FOR
PLANNING SERVICES:
The Court at this time executed an agreement between the Deschutes
County Planning Department, the City of Bend to render certain technical and
professional services in part to be financed with Federal funds pursuant to
Section 701 of the Housing Act of 1954, as amended and maintaining coordina-
tion between the City and County with respect to the County -Wide Comprehensive
Planning Program.
IN THE MATTER OF
MURRAY ROAD:
At this time the Court made resolution of its intention to establish
the road hereinafter described as follows, to -wit:
A strip of land sixty feet in width for road purposes
situated in the East one-half of the Southwest one-quarter
of Section 21, Township 17 South, Range 12 East, Willamette
Meridian, Deschutes County, Oregon, lying thirty feet each
side of the following described centerline:
Beginning at a point on the East-West centerline of the
Southwest one-quarter of said Section 21, at the intersection
of the westerly Right-of-way of the Boyd Acres County Road which
point bears North 1342.25 feet and West 490.90 feet from the
South one-quarter section corner of said Section 21; thence
North 890 47' 54" West 800.00 feet.
And it is further ordered that the County Roadmaster or his duly qualified
deputy, shall give notice of this Resolution by posting true copies thereof,
properly certified to as such by the County Clerk, at the place of holding
County Court and also at three public places in the vicinity of said pro-
posed road thirty days previous to the consideration of the Resolution by
the County Court, notifying all persons concerned that said Resolution will
be considered and passed upon by this Court at a meeting on the 3rd day of
October, 1969, at which time the Court will consider any objections or
remonstrances which may be filed on account of said proposed road.
IN THE MATTER OF
TRANSFER OF FUNDS:
The Court at this time ordered the Deschutes County Treasurer to make
the following transfers as per the adopted 1969-70 budget specifications:
From the Road Fund to General Fund: $ 10,980.00
From the Road Fund to County Advertising: 6,500.00
From the Road Fund to Road Dept. Equipment Res. Fund 100,000.00

IN THE MATTER OF
DEED:
The Court at this time executed a Deed to Elsie Holechek, for the
consideration of $500.00 for the following described parcel from Land Sale
#297, parcel 4:
Lot 8, Block 2, First Addition Deschutes River Acres
IN THE MATTER OF
PERMIT GRANTED:
At this time the Court granted a permit to Pacific Northwest Bell
to locate a buried able of .754 on or across Deschutes County right of way.
IN THE MATTER OF
CLERK, TAX DEPT.:
The Court at this time ordered the Clerk to place the name of
Phyllis Sears on the payroll for Sheriff's Tax Department as Clergy starting
September 15, 1969, at a salary of $310.00 per month.
IN THE MATTER OF
MODIFICATION OF
AGREEMENT:
The Court at this time hereby gives an extension of time from
September 15, 1969 to September 25, 1969 to John McGaugh with whom an Agree-
ment was made on the 21st day of April, 1969. The remaining provisions of
that agreement are to remain In full force and effect.
IN THE MATTER OF
LICENSE:
The Court at this time recommended approval for a Class "B" (DB)
dispenser's license for The Brand Restaurant, Darrel Davis and Wallace Johnson,
Route 2, Box 450, Redmond, Oregon.
IN THE MATTER OF
AN ACCESS:
The Court at this time granted a permit to the City of Bend to
install an access to Neff Road.
IN THE MATTER OF
PIPELINE:
The Court at this time granted a permit to Terrebonne Water District
to install a pipeline parallel on or across Deschutes County right-of-way.
There being no further business, Court adjourned.
