At this time the Court, in conjunction with the State Industrial Accident
Commission's committal for workmen safety, appointed a Safety Committee from among employees

Darrell Davidson, Bill Plath, Tom Windus, Keith Palmer; Charles Plummer to be an ex -officio

The Court at this time ordered the Clerk to promote Sharon Gardinier to second
step, Secretary III, at a rate of $380.00 per month, effective March 1, 1969.

The Court at this time appointed Carl Backstrom to a three year term, expiring

SUBDIVISION:
The Court at this time resolved that upon the petition of Emil Howell of Redmond,
of its intention to vacate a portion of 20th Street in Dana Butler Subdivision described as:
The west 10.00 feet of a portion of 20th Street in Dana Butler Subdivision,
DeschutesCounty, Oregon and now more particularly described as follows:
Starting at the Southeast corner of lot 2, Block 4, of said Dana Butler
subdivision, the initial point as well as the point of beginning; thence
N 89 461 E 10.00 ft.; thence N 00 331 W 169.49 feet; thence south 890
41' W 10.00 ft. to the west line of said 20th street; thence S 00 33' E,
along the west line of said 20th street 169.45 feet to the southeast
corner of said lot 2, block 4, the point of beginning; which parcel
contains 0.0389 acres of land.
The Court further ordered that copies of this Resolution duly certified by the County
Clerk shall be posted in three (3) places, along the road to be vacated, and that a copy

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA:
At this time the Court executed a Warranty Deed, for and in consideration of
the exchange of certain lands, (list is attached heretofore) as authorized by section 8
of the act of June 28, 1934 (48 Stat. 1272), as amended by section 3 of the act of June
26, 1936 (49 Stat. 1976), and hereby grants, bargains, sells and conveys unto the United
States of America its successors and assigns, all these parcels, with the tenements,
hereditaments and appurtenances, situated in the County of Deschutes and State of Oregon.
The true and actual consideration for this transfer in an exchange of lands of equal value.
IN THE MATTER OF
VACATION OF AN ALLEY:
At this time the Court resolved of its intention to vacate the alley in Block 33
of Laidlaw subdivision, particularly described as:
The alley in Block 33, Laidlaw, running north and south, bounded on the north
by the south line of 8th Street and bounded on the south by the.north line of
9th Street.
This matter coming before the Court upon the petition of Mr. & Mrs. 0. A. Collins, of
Gilchrist, Oregon. Further it is ordered by the Court that copies of this Resolution,
duly certified by the County Clerk shall be posted in three (3) places, along the alley
to be vacated and that a copy be placed on the bulletin board of the Deschutes County
Courthouse; that Wednesday, Aprill5, 1969 at 10:00 a.m., PST at the county Courtroom,
Courthouse, Bend, Oregon, and the same is hereby fixed as the time and place for the hearing
of objections, if any there be, why said alley should not be vacated.

COUNTY OWNED LANDS:
At this time the Court accepted the payment of $1,259.84, in Full, for 1968
Lease of County -owned Lands with C. M. Rocca and C. M. Rocca, Jr. dba Viewpoint Ranches,
and ordered that the complaint in Circuit Court be dismissed.

SHUMWAY LEASE WITH
DESCHUTES COUNTY:
The Court at this time voted to withdraw its complaint filed against Jack Shumway
and to cancel all leases which have been between him and Deschutes County; hereafter it will
be necessary for Jack Shumway to reapply, for a new lease of--'.county-owned lands.

The Court at this time granted a permit to K. Holman to move a building on or
