The Court at this time ordered the Clerk to place Keith Palmer, Engineering
Technician for the Deschutes County Road Department, on regular employee status following
his probationary period at $550.00 per month, effective January 1, 1968.
IN THE MATTER OF
NAMING PUBLIC ROAD
IN HUTCHINS SUBDIVISION:
At this time the Court ordered that the two (2) main connecting routes as
officially platted within Hutchins Subdivision be named as follows:
The main north -south road shall be Hutchins Road.
The main east -west route shall be Dacey Way.
And it was further ordered that the `County Roadmaster or his qualified deputy
to post the road names in the proper manner on the routes as specified.

IN THE MATTER OF
ENGINEERING BIDS:
The Court opened bids for engineering on streets in the Wildwood Subdivision
at 10:00 a.m., January 24, 1968. The County Court elected to reject all bids and has
directed the Road Department of Deschutes County to perform all the necessary engineering
on this project.
IN THE MATTER OF
WELFARE OFFICE SPACE:
A letter of intent was sent to John Kerns, Deschutes County Administrator,
State Welfare Commission, by the County Court to inform the State Public Welfare Commission
that the County will need their department space, effective July 1, 1968. It was further
stated that the Court regrets this action, but it is of extreme necessity to secure this
space in the annex building.
IN THE MATTER OF
LIBRARY COMMITTEE:
The Court at this time appointed Gordon Robberson to a four year term to the
Deschutes County Library Committee.
IN THE MATTER OF
BUDGET ADVISORY COMMITTEE:
The Court at this time appointed Priday B. Holmes of Redmond to the Deschutes
County Budget Advisory Committee.
IN THE MATTER OF
MOVING A BUILDING:
At this time the Court granted a permit to Carl Spencer to move a building
241x 201 on or across Deschutes County right-of-way.
IN THE MATTER OF
INSTALLATION OF
WATER PIPELINE:
At this time the Court granted a permit to Esther A. Gordon to install two
3/4" water lines on or across Deschutes County right-of-way.
IN THE MATTER OF
QUITCLAIM DEED:
At this time the Court gave a Quitclaim Deed to James 0. Arntz & Doris E. Arntz,
husband and wife, and L. Glen Hays & Beverly Hays, husband and wife to the following
described real property, situated in the County of Deschutes, State of Oregon, to -wit:
ft!�, Sec. 7, Twp. 20 S., R. 17 E.W.M., except that portion owned by
the Oregon State Highway Commission for stockpile purposes and U.S. Highway 20
right -p -way, and
S3NF14, Sec. 7, Twp. 20 S., R. 17 E.W.M. lying East of the Crooked River
Highway, except that portion owned by the Oregon State Highway Commission
for stockpile purposes and U. S. Highway 20 right-of-way. Approximately 03.91 A.
This deed given to release all mineral rights.
IN THE MATTER OF
EMPLOYMENT, ROAD DEPARTMENT:
The Court ordered Everett Leoland Austin on the Road Department payroll as
Maintenance Man II at the rate of $460.00 per month, effective February 2, 1968; and
Darrell Delbert Anderson on the Road Department payroll as Weed Supervisor at the rate
of 0550.00 per month, effective March 1, 1968.

The Court at this time by unanimous consent decided to drill an exploratory
well on property deeded to the County, in Deschutes River Woods, and authorized Central
Oregon Well Drilling to do the work at $7.00 per foot, plus twenty feet of casing
