Engineering 9.52 IN THE MATTER OF REDEMPTION DEED: The Court at this time granted a Redemption Deed to Hugh L. Fountain and Marie Fountain, husband and wife, in consideration of One Thousand Eight Hundred Seventy-three and 10/100ths ($1,873.10) Dollars for the following described parcel of real estate situated in the County of Deschutes, State of Oregon, to -wits Lot 13, Block 18, Park Addition to Bend, according to the official plat thereof on file in the office of the County Clerk of said County. This Deed is made pursuant to the powers vested in the County Court by virtue of ORS 275.180 in consideration of the delinquent tax assessments accrued together with the interest at the rate of 6% thereon. IN THE MATTER OF APPLICATION FOR BEER LICENSE: At this time the Court recommended that the application for a DB Beer License be approved for Sunriver Properties, Inc., Donald McCallum, Pres.,, P.O. Box 1224, Bend, Oregon. IN THE MATTER OF DEED TO PROPERTY: The Court at this time received a Deed from the Division of State Lands for properties located in: Nom, SWV* and N*74 of Sec. 36, Twp. 14-S., R. 12 E.W.M. These lands are dedicated to park and recreational purposes. IN THE MATTER OF SUPPLEMENTARY BUDGET.- The UDGET: The Court at this time ordered that the Supplem®ntary Budget as advertised, be expended as budgeted, there being no objections at the Hearing held April 18, 1968 at 7:30 p.m. IN THE MATTER OF LEASE OF COUNTY OWNED LANDS.- The ANDS: The Court at this time leased to Brooks -Willamette Corporation the following described county -owned lands, to wits Twp. 15 S., R. 13 E.W.M.: Sec. 102 SA SA.-, containing 40 acres, more or less, for an Evaporating pit and Burning pit area at the rate of $30.00 from May 19, 1968 to May 19, 1969. -3- 11 FAW 639 IN THE MATTER OF ELDER PIT & KNOTT PIT: The Court at this time notified Frank Vautier by letter that both Elder and Knott pit sites are to be cleaned up in thirty days or by May 16, 1968, or the Court will take the means at its disposal to do away with the cars at both sites. IN THE MATTER OF VEHICLES: At this time the Court authorized Charles L. Plummer, Deschutes County Road - master, to find a suitable used vehicle for the Sign Department of the Road Department with the present Sign Department Pickup to go to the Fair Board and the Fair Board 4 -wheel drive to go to the Weed Department in turn. IN THE MATTER OF 'COUNTY ROAD POLICY: At this time the 'Court accepted the recommendation of the Road Advisory Committee on policy concerning county roads; and the Court further made Resolution that this policy be adopted and herewith become the stated policy of the Deschutes County Court. IN THE MATTER OF PARTICIPATION WITH CITY OF BEND: At this time the Court had a discussion concerning the City of Bend Eighth Street Project and by unanimous consent authorized participation up to fifty per cent of the contract letting price from Greenwood to Jones Road; and the Court also authorized to let a contract at the same time for that part of Butler Market Road from Jones Road to Studio Road, to be done according to county standards and paid for by the county. IN THE MATTER OF REPORT FROM THE COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR: At this time the Court heard a report from William C. James, 'Communications Director, on the new installation of the 450 mg. radio equipment. The report indicated that all parties concerned were very well satisfied. IN THE MATTER OF APPRAISAL OF SUNSET HOME: At this time the Court authorized an appraisal to be made by Lloyd Farley and Associates of the Sunset Home property building and facility. IN THE MATTER OF CLOSURE OF ROADS: At this time the Court ordered the closing of Johnson Park county road in cooperation with Mr. Robert Coats and the placing of a steel gate across the right-of-way. Vandalism demanded this decision. At this time the Court ordered closing of Old Cline Falls Road and ordered the Deschutes County Road Department and Charles L. Plummer, Roadmaster, to barricade with truck loads of fill dirt and signs to be posted at both closures. IN THE MATTER OF GOLDEN AGE CLUB: At this time the Court considered the petition of the Golden Age Club for a vehicle of transportation to and from the clubhouse. Commissioner McCann reported that -4- VOL PAGE 640 efforts were being made to find a surplus vehicle. IN THE MATTER OF RENAMING CERTAIN COUNTY ROADS: At this time the Court ordered a notice of hearing on the Changing of County Road Names in the Redmond vicinity according to the Redmond,Planning Commission's recommendation. The Hearing date is to be May 8, 1968, at 10:00 a.m. in the Redmond City Council Room, Redmond, Oregon. IN THE MATTER OF PETITIONS CONCERNING COUNTY ROADS: At this time the Court received petitions from residents in Mountain Meadow Subdivision asking for grading, graveling and eventually paving of Scenic Drive in this subdivison and another petition asking to vacate a portion of Rogers Road, that portion from the Old Highway 97 E, approximately .3 of a mile to the intersection of Scenic Drive. Both petitions were to be referred to the Road Advisory Committee. IN THE MATTER OF WELFARE DEPARTMENT BUILDING: At this time the Court was advised that E. B. Sahlstrom, Attorney, 110 S. Park, Eugene, Oregon, had been awarded the contract concerning Site A, located at S. E. corner of Revere and Lytle Streets, Bend, for construction of building to house the Deschutes County Welfare Department. IN THE MATTER OF DENIAL OF PETITION: At this time the Court denied the petition of Terrebonne Grocery owned by Red Wilson, Terrebonne, for paving along the county road and adjacent to the grocery. IN THE MATTER OF NEW APPLICATION OF BEER LICENSE: At this time the Court recommended that the application for beer license for Robert L. Johnson, Ben's Fly Store, Box 121, LaPine, be approved for PB license. IN THE MATTER OF LETTER FROM 'CITIZERS OF DESCHUTES 'COUNTY: At this time the Court received a letter from citizens of Deschutes County who are distressed by indications of an imminent pulp plant in our area. The Court concurred in the letter, but the Statute does not implement the law for pollution control for counties under 135,000 population. It was decided to petition our legislators in this behalf. At this time the Court ordered that the County Treasurer set up a fund to be known as the Museum Fund in accordance with ORS 358.110. IN THE MATTER OF COST CLERK, ROAD DEPARTMENT: At this time the Court ordered that the Deschutes County Clerk place the name. of Ralph Leon Meeker on the Road Department payroll as Cost Clerk at the rate of $440.00 per month, effective April 29, 1968. -5- VOL .. aA&E641 IN THE MATTER OF J -J BOYS" RANCH TRUST FUND: At this time the Court ordered that the Deschutes County Treasurer transfer $20-,000.00,from the Land Sales Fund to the J -J Boys' Ranch Trust Fund, effective the 26th day of April, 1968, IN THE MATTER OF REFUND OF TAXES: The Court ordered F. C. Sholes, Tax Collector, to make the following refund of taxes: First Nat'l Bank, Bend Branch Lelco Inc.
