IN THE MATTER OF
LARSEN ROAD:
The Court at this time made Resolution of its intention to
establish a county road in Deschutes County, described as follows, to -wit:
A strip of land for road purposes, being 60 feet in width;
30 feet on each side of a center line, the description of
said center line being as follows: Beginning at a point 20
feet west of the 4 section corner between sections 12 and 13
of T. 18S., R. 12-E.W.M, and running 1320 feet n. or 1. south
to a point 20 feet east of the southwest corner of NW4NE4 of
section 13, T. 18S., R. 12 E.W.M.
It was further ordered that the County Roadmaster shall post at
three public places, properly certified copies by the County Clerk, in the
vicinity of said proposed road; and that at a meeting on the 7th day of
June, 1967 the Court will consider any objections or remonstrances which
may be filed on account of said proposed road.
IN :THE MATTER OF
TRANSFER OF FUNDS:
At this time the Court ordered the Deschutes County Treasurer
to make a budget transfer ofi$2,698.77 from the General Fund to the Court-
house Expansion Fund and a cash transfer of $2,494.07 from the General Fund
to the Courthouse Expansion Fund.
IN THE MATTER OF
LEASE WITH WESTERN
UNION TELEGRAPH CO.:
The Court at this time entered into an Agreement Lease with
The Western Union Telegraph Company a parcel of land lying in the NW4SEk
of Section 23, Twp. 19S., R. 14 E.W.M.; said parcel comprises 0.36 acres.
The Lessee agrees to pay as rental for the use of the lease premises and
the right-of-way hereinafter provided the sum of One Hundred Dollars per
year for a term of approximately thirty years, for the purpose of erecting
equipment necessary to the operation of the Lessee's telephone, telegraph
or electronic communications.
IN :THE MATTER OF
EQUALIZATION BOARD:
The Court at this time appointed Gil Helling, Budget Advisory
Board member, to the Deschutes County Equalization Board-.
IN THE MATTER OF
INSURANCE BIDS:
The Court at this time called for bids, by notice in the Bulletin,
for a Comprehensive Liability Policy with $300,000/500,000/100,000 liability
limits, Fire, Theft, Comprehensive & Collision insurance for automobiles
and Limited Floater form on equipment. Bids are to be received up to
10:00 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time, June 7, 1967, at which time they will be
opened.

IN THE MATTER OF
COUNTY ENGINEER:
The Court at this time ordered that the Clerk place the name of
Lewis Ross on the payroll, effective May 1, 1967, as County Engineer at
a salary of $15,000 per year.
IN THE MATTER OF
COUNTY DUMPS:
The Court at this time granted permission to M. C. Chamberlain,
LaPine, and John Sedlock, Portland, to use the County Dumps ;under the
following restrictions: -
1. LaPine disposal site be operated and maintained under the
county's landfill program.
2. The site be free to the public.
3. Investigate possible charge to commercial hauler after such
time as volume of business can be determined.
4. Due to the economics of the general population of LaPine
garbage disposal be made as inexpensive to the public of
that area as possible.
IN THE MATTER OF
DEED, STATE
HIGHWAY COMMISSION:
The County at this time amended the Res6lution of April 5, to
the State of Oregon by and through its State Highway Commission regarding
access width be forty feet in width; signed the Bargain & Sale Deed and
forwarded the Quitclaim Deed to Alta Sierra Ranches, Inc. in California,
who lease a portion of this land from the County. This transaction is
in connection with certain right of way in Deschutes County for the Arnold
Ice Cave Road --Fort Rock Road Section in Central Oregon Highway.
Also at this time the

OWNED LAND:

The Court at this time executed the following deeds:
Deschutes County to Bend Aggregate & Paving, All that portion of Lots 101.11
and 12, Block 34, lying East of Bend -Sisters Highway, Laidlaw Townsite,
for the sum of $200.00.
Deschutes County to Barbara Butler Trust, Barbara Butler Yeakel, Trustee,
SW4SE4, Sec. 11, Twp, 16 S., R. 10, E.W.M.-, for the sum of $7100.00.
Deschutes County to David V. Harris and Grace I. Harris, husband and
wife, Lot 51, Railway Addition, Redmond, for the sum of $250.00.
Deschutes County to Bend Aggregate & Paving, That part of SW4NE4, Sec. 6
lying between the east line of the Tumalo Reservoir Market Road -and the
west line of the Old Bend -Sisters Hgy. Twp. 17S., R. 12, E.W.M. (approx.
20.28 A.), for the sum of $5,000.00.

PROPERTY EXCHANGE:
The Court at this time ordered the exchange of properties between

Deschutes County and Bureau of Land Management be so made, beings publica-
tion had been made as required by statute, and there being no objections
at the Hearing held this day. It is further ordered that a Deed be exe-
cuted and the transaction completed.
IN THE MATTER OF
HEAVYEQUUIPMENT:OPERATOR:
The Court at this time ordered the Deschutes County Clerk to place the name
of Galen Baker on the payroll as Heavy Equipment Operator at a salary of $440.00 per
month as of April 27, 1967.
IN THE MATTER OF
INSTALLATION OF A
UTILITY CABLE:
The Court at this time granted a permit to Pacific Northwest Bell to
install a utility cable on or across Deschutes County right-of-way.
The Court at this time granted a permit to Pacific Northwest Bell to
install a utility cable on Nelson Road.
IN THE MATTER OF
B'�ER LICENSE:
The Court at this time approved the renewal application for beer license
for Elk Lake Lodge, Inc., Elk Lake, Box 789; R10B.
