PROMOTION:
The Court at this time authorized the Roadmaster to effect the following
changes in the office clerical staff: The following employees are to be added to Road
Department payroll effective May 1, 1967:
Daniel C. Hazen, Adm. Assistant $480.00 per month
Jeanne Cartwright, Clerk I $310.00 per month
Authorization is also made to promote Mrs. Elaine Jorgensen to Clerk III at a salary of
$400.00 per month, effective May 1, 1967.
IN THE MATTER OF
THREE DUMP BCQIES:
The Court at this time awarded to the low bidder for three dump bodies with
five to six cubic yard capacity, to Columbia Body and $quipment Co. The price being
$1,592.00 per unit, net, F.O.B., Portland, Oregon.
IN THE MATTER OF
INSTALLATION OF A WATER
LINE ON FORKED HORN ROAD:
At this time the Court granted a permit to Kirby L. Sheets to install a
1)�*" water line across Deschutes County right-of-way on Forked Horn Road.
IN THE MATTER OF
LEASE WITH WESTERN
UNION TELEGRAPH CO.:
The Court at this time entered into a lease according to ORS 271.310 with
Western Union Telegraph Company Horse Ridge Site and payment was made in the amount of
$100.00 to cover the rental for the first year for the period of June 1, 1967 to May 31,
1968.
IN THE MATTER OF
ROSS ROAD HEARING:
The Court at this time ordered the establishment of the Ross Road, that it is
in the public interest that this road be established, there being no objections at the
public hearing held May 24, 1967. It is further ordered that the Deschutes County Surveyor
shall file a plat of said road, as surveyed on the ground, with the road records of
Deschutes County.
IN THE MATTER OF
SANITARIAN II:
At this time the Court ordered the Deschutes County Clerk to place the name
of Leonard Paul Peterson, Sanitarian II, on the payroll as of May 15, 1967, at a salary of
$50.00 per month.

IN THE MATTER OF
REDMOND FOUR
WHEELER JEEP CLUB:
The Court at this time granted permission to the Redmond Four Wheeler Jeep
Club to hold their annual Four Wheel Drive meeting on county lands, particularly on that
portion of Section 2 lying East of the Negus Road, Township 155., Range 13 E.W.M. during
the weekend of August 11, 12, and 13, 1967.
IN THE MATTER OF
RELEASE OF BOND:
The Court at this time, upon the recommendation of County Roadmaster, Charles
L. Plummer, Jr., ordered the release of Bond for $500.00 to Keith Ramsay, Scenic View
Estates, upon completion of the roads in the above mentioned subdivision.
IN THE MATTER OF
MOVING A BUILDING:
The Court at this time granted a permit to Kenneth Holman to move a 23foot 4 inch
building on or across Deschutes County right of way.
IN THE MATTER OF
QUITCLAIM DEED:
At this time the Court does hereby remise, release and forever QUITCLAIM unto
the said Sarah I. Pengilly, Dorothy A. McCool and John J. Pengilly for the consideration
of Seven hundred twenty-seven and 36/100 ($727.36) for the following described parcel of
real estate, to -wit:
Lot One (1) of Block Three (3) DESCHUTES, according to the
official plat thereof on file in the office of the County
Clerk of Deschutes County.
This deed is made pursuant to the powers vested in the County Court by virtue
of ORS 275.180 in consideration of the delinquent tax assessments accrued together with
interest at the rate of 6% thereon.
IN THE MATTER OF
UNDERGROUND ELECTRIC
POWER CABLE:
The Court at this time granted a permit to Central Electric Cooperative, Inc.
to install underground electric power cables transversing Indian Ford Road and Camp
Polk Road.
IN THE MATTER OF
DESCHUTES COUNTY
YOUTH CARE CENTER:
The Court at this time ordered that Circle H Boys Ranch in Culver, Oregon be
designated as Deschutes County Youth Care Center, to provide such care as needed to the
Deschutes County Juvenile Court.
IN THE MATTER OF
COUNTY OWNED LAND LEASE:
The Court at this time leased to Brooks Willamette Corporation the following
county owned lands, to wit:
Township 15 South, Range 13 E.W.M.: Section 10: SASE's
containing 40 acres, more or less.
The term of this lease is from May 19, 1967 to May 19, 1968, is for evaporating
pit and burning pit area purposes only; the rental being $30.00 per year.
