by LeRoy McCaw and Ray Curtis to McCaw's Extension of Yeoman Road. The Court, after

Tract 18 of Wards Tracts; for the consideration of the delinquent tax
assessment together with interest at the rate of 6%, in consideration of $345.32.
IN THE MATTER OF
ADOPTION OF
1967-68 BUDGET:
Be it remembered, That pursuant to a published notice heretofore given fixing
the County Courtroom as the place and June 30, 1967, at 10:00 a.m. as the time for the
hearing on the budget for Deschutes County for the fiscal year 1967-68. With none being
present, nor any dissention, D. L. Penhollow moved that the budget be adopted with the
following noted changes; seconded by Gilbert Helling and it was unanimously carried.
Chairman McCann explained that in the Assessor's budget, Virginia,.Chapman had been rated
as an Administrative Assistant and placed on Step IV, Range 12 of the Salary Schedule,
however Step IV, range 12, calls for an annual salary of $5280, rather than the ;5040 as
set forth. This adjustment was approved.
It was further determined that due to the reduced budgets of Crook and Jefferson
Counties in the Tri -County Health Department's budget, the amount required by Deschutes
County would be reduced from $10,797 to $4000 to provide our portion of the Health
Officerts salary. This leaves a $6,297 difference.
It was also approved to adjust the salary of the Redmond Justice of Peace to
include the previously used item of $300 as Clerkfs services, to be added to the Salary
item, bringing the total to $4,860 annually as salary.
It was determined that the County could anticipate an additional Cash Carryover
of `'$2,000; therefore after adjustments as set forth above, the unbudgeted amount of $7,757
was set aside to comply with the request of the Budget Committee that a study be made of
Courthouse Ecpansion projects and that preliminary plans and costs be prepared for sub-
mission to the voters as a continuing levy or bond issue,
Mrs. Betty Stearns of LaPine telephoned to request that the possibility of
re-establishing the Justice Court in the LaPine community be left open for further considera-
tionby the Court and Budget Committee.
Thereupon the budget was adopted and it was ordered that the County Assessor
make the necessary levies.
