ADVISORY COM[UTTEE:
The Court at this time appointed Carl Backstrom to the Budget Advisory
Committee to fill out the unexpired term (until January 1, 1969) of Joe T. Sundet who
resigned from this committee.
IN THE MATTER OF
DAIS PROCESSING:
At this time the Court agreed that the Deschutes County Road Department DatiL
Processing be changed from the Oregon State Highway to Central Oregon College Data Pro-
cessing and that a letter be forwarded to the Central Oregon College Board asking per-
mission to use the collegels equipment.
IN THE MATTER OF
ENGINEERING:
At this time the Court authorized Roadmaster, Charles L. Plummer, Jr., to
hire Awbrey Perry to head the Engineering Staff for Deschutes County Road Department,
effective September 1, 1967 at a salary of $8,000.00 per year.
IN THE MATTER OF
APPROACH:
The Court at this time authorized an approach to C. L. Henry's property;
Mrs. Lyle Carrington appeared on his behalf before the Court.

IN THE MATTER OF
RENTAL AGREEMENT:
The Court at this time entered into an Agreement between Deschutes County
and William Wright & Maxine Wright for the following certain premises:
The East 120 feet of Lot One (1), Lytle Acres being a parcel of
land in the Northest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section
Thirty-two (32), Township Seventeen (17) South, Range Twelve (12)
E.W.M., Deschutes County, Oregon.
commencing the first day of September, 1967, at a monthly rental of $65.00 per month,
payable monthly in advance on the 10th day of each and every month.
IN THE MATTER OF
BOARD OF EQUALIZATION:
The Court at this time appointed Dorothy Smead, Commissioner as the Court's
member on the Board of Equalization; and the Budget Committee chose Gil Helling to be
the Budget Advisory Board's member on the Deschutes County Equalization Board, all in
accordance with ORS 309.020.
IN THE MATTER OF
PETITION:
At this time the Court received a petition from residents in the Bear Creek
area, south of Bear Creek Road, for improvements with pavement of certain roads. This
matter to be referred to the Road Advisory Committee to consider.
IN THE MATTER OF
RENTAL AGREEMENT:
The Court at this time entered into an agreement between Deschutes County and
Ella Wild for a rental agreement for the followings
The West 80 feet of Tract One (1), Lytle Acres, being a parcel of land
in the N.E. quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 32, Twp. 175.,
R. 12 E.W.M., Deschutes County, Oregon, located at 145 Penn Avenue,
Bend, Oregon,
commencing September 1, 1967 at a monthly rental of $40.00 per month.
IN THE MATTER OF
MUTUAL AGREEMENT:
At this time the Court signed an Agreement between Deschutes County and
Bureau of Land Management for a temporary site to operate a sanitation land fill on
portions of the NW1-401,�4- Sec. 11, Twp. 18 S., R. 12 E.W.M. No rental charge will be made;
the agreement will expire on February 1, 1968.
IN THE MATTER OF
LIFE INSURANCE RATES:
After a detailed explanation by Walt Webb, explaining Life Insurance rates
for seven companies, the Court accepted the PHA Company bid for Life Insurance rates for
employees of Deschutes County; effective October 1, 1967.
IN THE MATTER OF
DEPUTY WATERMASTER:
At this time the Court ordered that the Clerk place the name of Fred L. Painter,
Deputy Watermaster, on the county payroll, effective August 1, 1967 at a salary as follows:
For Dist. 11 48.64% of $125.00 or $60.80 and for services rendered on Squaw Creek 85%
of $225.00 or $191.25, a total of $252.05.

IN THE MATTER OF
MOVING A BUILDING:
The Court granted a permit to K. J. Holman to move a 22 x 44 building on or
across Deschutes County right-of-way.
IN THE MATTER OF
CONCILIATORY COUNSELOR,
FAMILY COUNSELING CLINIC:
The Court ordered that the Clerk place the name of Dr. Richard White as
Conciliatory Counselor for the Tri -County Family Counseling Clinic on the county payroll
at the rate of $10.00 per hour, beginning July 24, 1967; 60% of this salary to be paid
by Deschutes County and 20% by Crook and Jefferson Counties respectively.

PERSONAL, PROPERTY
TAX FORECLOSURE LIST:
At this time the Court ordered the Sheriff and Tax Collector to publish the
1966-67 personal property tax foreclosure list in The Bulletin.
IN THE _MATTER OF
APPOINTMENT, DESCHUTES COUNTY
PUBLIC WELFARE COMMISSION:
The Court at this time reappointed Mrs. F. A. Starkey to the Deschutes County
Public Welfare Commission for a four year term, through June 30, 1971.
IN THE MATTER OF
PSYCHOLOGIST, FAMILY
COUNSELING CLINIC:
At this time the Court ordered the Clerk to place the name of Miss Barbara
J. Sparkman as Psychologist for the Tri -County Family Counseling Clinic on the county
payroll at a salary of $721.00 per month, of which the Deschutes County portion is
60 per cent, effective August 28, 1967.
IN THE MATTER OF
CONTRACT, BABLER BROTHERS:
The Court entered into a Contract on August 30, 1967 between Deschutes County
and Babler Brothers, Inc., in consideration, the Contractor agrees to furnish Deschutes
County with 22.55 miles seal coat and 5.5 miles of 0-9 oil mat for the total considera-
tion of $52,982.50. Completion date of this Contract is September 30, 1967.
IN THE MATTER OF
PIPE INSTALLATION:
The Court at this time granted a permit to E. C. Harlan to install a water
line on Reed Lane Road.
IN THE MATTER OF
RELEASE OF BOND:
The Court at this time upon the recommendation of County Roadmaster, Charles
L. Plummer, Jr., ordered the release of Bond for $28,000.00 to Sydney Gross, Deschutes
River Recreation Homesite Units 6 - Part 1 & 2, upon completion of the roads in the
above mentioned subdivision.
