St. Dept. of Agriculture Weed Control Lic. 10.00 IN THE MATTER OF PETITION TO FSTAKISH A ROAD FROM EXTENSION OF PRINGLE FALLS ROAD TO WICKIUP RESEAVOIR At this time the Court heard a petition to the U. S. Forest Service and the County Court to establish a road from an extension of the Pringle Falls Road to the Wickiup Reservoir and to the North Camp of the Wickiup Reservoir. Those present for the sponsoring of the petition were Mr. Roger Norland, Manager, North Unit Irrigation District; Mrs. Betty Ahern, Ahern Acres, La Pine; Mrs. Ovid Evans, Pringle Falls. Also present for the hearing were Mr. C. E. Hein, U.S. Forest Service, and Mr. McCormick, Forest Service. Present in the room at the hearing were Mrs. John Stenkamp, League of Women Voters, Charles Plummer, Deschutes County Roadmaster, and the members of the County Court. The Forest Service personnel promised that every effort was being made to complete the roads that were begun in the area, and that they would by April put counters on this road and make some report to those who had presented the petition. IN THE MATTER OF DISPOSITION OF COURT HOUSE SPACE: At this time the-Court heard Awbrey Perry, Hobert Starr, Forrest Sholes, Helen Dacey, Louis Selken, May Fryrear and Robert Lyons in discussion on the disposition of offices in the space that is to be allowed in the Courthouse upon the moving of the Deschutes County Public Welfare and the Deschutes County Home Extension, as well as the Juvenile Department, to the new building. The discussion was the result of an invitation of the Court to get the ideas of the different departments in the Courthouse. Many ideas were put forth, but no decisions were arrived at. IN THE MATTER OF DUSTAN ROAD: At this time the Court heard Eugene Davis Road. The need for cinders on this particular road children to the La Pine School was presented, and the and make a report to the County Court at once. IN THE MATTER OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR DOG SHELTER PROGRAM: of La Pine regarding the Dustan to expedite the delivery of school roadmaster asked to view the need At this time the Court heard Mrs. Lois Valley and Mrs. George Fulton upon the need of some financial assistance for the carrying on the program of the dog shelter. It was noted that the Humane Society had drawn up papers so that the dog shelter property and premises would revert to Deschutes County if and when there should be such a time as the Humane Society would be abandoned in this area. Those present for the meeting included the dog control board,.J. W. Schrunk of Redmond as Chairman, Folmer Bodker of Tumalo, Clyde Carson of Alfalfa, as well as the dog warden, Jess Smith. The Court is to act upon a recommendation of the dog control board that they underwrite the salary of a care- taker at the dog shelter to the extent of $2.00 per day. This awaits Court action. IN THE MATTER OF DESCHUTES COUNTY ADVERTISING COMMITTEE: At this time the Court appointed Don Hinman of Redmond to the Deschutes County Advertising Committee. IN THE MATTER OF EMERGENCY PLANNING DIRECTOR: At this time the Court appointed William C. James as Director of the Deschutes County Emergency Planning. IN THE MATTER OF EXTENSION ADVISORY COUNCIL: The Court at this time appointed Priday Holmes to a three year term on the Extension Advisory Council. Term to begin October 1, 19611. - 3 - VOL 9 280 IN THE MATTER OF IN- STALLATION OF PIPE LINE: The Court granted R. A. Miller permission to install a pipe line on or across Deschutes County right-of-way. IN THE MATTER OF REFUND OF TAXES: The Court ordered the Tax Collector tb refund the arum of $150.95 to Cliff Bishop for overpayment of taxes.. IN THE MATTER OF BEER AND LIQUOR LICENSES: The.Court approved the following applications for renewal of beer and liquor licensees Elwood C. Young et ux dba Joe & Beals Hwy. Tavern - RMBA Roy H.
