3-308-Minutes for Meeting September 07,1977 Recorded 3/17/1937BE IT REMEMERED, That an adjourned term of the County Court for Deschutes
County, Oregon, was held in the Court Room on March 17, 1937, all members being present,
the following business was transacted:
In the Matter of the Taxation of Lots Owned
by Deschutes County Library Board:
It appearing that the Deschutes County Library Board is merely an agency
of Deschutes County and that its property is, therefore, not subject to taxation, it
is hereby
ORDERED that the Sheriff be and he is hereby directed to cancel upon the
rolls all unpaid taxes heretofore assessed against the following described real
property of said Deschutes County Library Board, to wit:
Lots 6 and 7 in Block 22 of Park Addition to Bend,
and that he take credit in his accounts for the amount of such cancelled taxes.
In the Matter of the Deschutes
County Law Library:
Jay H. Upton and Geo. H. Brewster appearing before the Court in behalf of
the Deschutes County Law Library Board recommending a proposal of the West Publishing
Company to replace a portion of the library destroyed by fire, and after discussion
the court signed a contract with the West Publishing Company for $14800.00 to be paid
as funds accrue in the Law Library Fund, providing that a debt of $1200.00 due on
books which were destroyed by fire be cancelled.
In the Matter of Leasing
County Property:
At this time the Court signed a lease to E. 0. Bryant for the following
property: W2NE WASWi Sec. 33; SWJ Sec. 28; S,SEJ; NWJSE4 Sec. 29; NWJNE4;
NE SE , Sec. 32; W 9j, Sec. 20, and W,1=J Sec. 21, all in Township 15 S.R. 11
for $10.00.
In the Matter of Sale
of County Property:
At this time the Court signed deed for land as follows:
Joe Gibson Lot 14, Block 214, Highland Addition to Bend, Oregon $135.00
L. J. Jonas Tract 13 of Carroll Acres 1 15.00
In the Matter of Contract
to Sell County Property:
Now at this time the Court signed a contract with Con Breen for E2 Noi,.
27-17-14.
In the Matter of
Sheriff t s Bond:
The Court approved the bond of Sheriff C. L. McCauley as Tax Collector in
the amount of $30,000.00.
In the Matter of Cancellation
of Warrants:
At this time the County Warrant No. 6936-B to J. W. Copeland Yards for
$1.40, and Warrant No. 7125-B to the First National Bank of Klamath Falls for $350.00
were ordered cancelled, for the reason that the same were issued in error.
In the Matter of Dance
Hall Licenses:
The Court approved the application and bond of the Pleasant Ridge Community
Association for a dance hall license, and the Clerk was ordered to issue the same.
In the Matter of Liquor Licenses:
At this time the Court approved the application of W. C. Tyson for a Retail
Beer and Package A Liquor License.
In the Matter of
Delinquent Taxes:
The Clerk was instructed to notify the Sheriff to check up on taxes on
timber lands which were being logged off and require that such taxes be paid in full.
In the Matter of Printing
Supplies for the New Tax System:
At this time bids were opened for furnishing supplies for the new tax
collection system,. and the contract awarded to the Redmond Spokesman for $1220.00.
In the Matter of Claims
