WHEREAS, a special election was held on May 7, 1974 on
the question of the formation of the proposed Bend Metropolitan
Parks and Recreation District and to elect members of the first
District Board.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Deschutes
County, Oregon has received certifications from the County Clerk
of Deschutes County, Oregon that the majority of the votes cast
were in favor of the formation of the District and that the
following persons received a majority of the votes for members
of the District Board: Robert L, Coats, Leonard L. Gray, Constance
C. Miller, E., Albert Moody, Mary Jane Newton,
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED AND DECLARED that the
Bend Metropolitan Park and RecreationDistrict is formed. The
purpose of the District is to acquire, maintain and operate park
and recreation facilities within the boundaries of the District.
The boundaries of the District shall be as shown on Exhibit A
attached hereto and made a part hereof.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Deschutes County Board of Commissioners adopted the
following order March 13, 1974:
"41IIEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of
Deschutes County, Oregon, has received petitions con-
taining 746 signatures requesting the formation Qf a

Park and Recreation District to serve the Bend metro-
politan area, and
"WHEREAS, the Board of County -Commissioners of
Deschutes County, Oregon, has received petitions con-
taining 136 signatures requesting an election upon
the question of whether such a Park and Recreation
District should be formed;
"NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the
Board of County Commissioners intends to initiate the
formation of a Park and Recreation District pursuant to
'ORS Chapter 266 and to submit the question of formation
to ti a vote of the District.
"IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the name of the District
shall be BEND METROPOLITAN PARK AND RECREATION DISTRICT
if it is formed and its boundaries shall be as shown on
Exhibit "A;'," attached hereto and made a part hereof.
"IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that a public hearing shall
be held on the proposal on April 9, 1974, at 7:30 p.m.
at the Bend City Commission Chambers, City Hall, at which
time all interested persons may appear and be heard."
The purpose of the proposed District is to acquire, maintain
and operate park and recreation facilities within the boundaries of
the proposed District.
The name of the proposed District shall be BEND I�tETROPOLI'.i ,. 23;�
PARK AND RECREATION DISTRICT, if it is formed, and the boundaries;
