Daly and Dennis R. Luke. Also present were Anna Johnson, Andrea Blum and David Givans, Commissioners' Office; Catharine White and George Read, Community Development Department; Laurie Craghead, Legal Counsel; media representatives Jason Carr of Z-21 TV, and Barney Lerten of bend. com; and seven other citizens. Chair De Wolf opened the meeting at 10: 00 a. in. 1. Before the Board was Citizen Input. None was offered. 2. Before the Board was an Acknowledgment of Redmond High School Student Jordan Bilyeu's Efforts to Assist Victims of the Tsunami Disaster in Southern Asia. Jordan Bilyeu and his mother, Katrina Latham -Moore, were introduced to the audience. Chair DeWolf presented a letter, County pin and certificate to Mr. Bilyeu, acknowledging his efforts to help victims of the recent tsunami disaster in southern Asia. The Commissioners also publicly encouraged the public to contribute to organizations that are helping the victims deal with this devastating natural disaster. Minutes of Board of Commissioners' Meeting Wednesday, June 5, 2005 Page 1 of 4 Pages Ms. Latham -Moore stated that her son is very involved in a culinary arts group. The group has now decided to donate a percentage of what they earn towards helping with this disaster. Mr. Bilyeu stated that he has been interviewed by numerous publications and was on CNN TV yesterday. At this time Mr. Bilyeu, his mother, father and stepmother met with media representatives to discuss in detail what occurred on the date of the disaster and prior to Mr. Bilyeu's return to Oregon. 3. Before the Board was Consideration of the First and Second Readings and Adoption, by Emergency, of Ordinance No. 2005-002, Text Amendments to the Landscape Management Combining Zone regarding Rimrock Setback Exceptions. Cathy White explained that on Monday the Board asked for some changes to be made to the draft ordinance. The height language was changed as requested, along with specific language relating to dormers and the roof ridge line. The chimney by Code could add up to six feet to the height of the structure. Before the Board was Consideration of Approval of Weekly Accounts Payable Vouchers for the Extension/4-H County Service District. No vouchers were processed this week. RECONVENED AS THE DESCHUTES COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS 6. Before the Board was Consideration of Approval of Weekly Accounts Payable Vouchers for Deschutes County. No vouchers were processed this week. 7. ADDITION TO THE AGENDA Before the Board was Consideration of Signature of a Letter Reappointing Kelly Walker to the Deschutes County Weed Advisory Board, through December 31, 2006.
