BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON
A Resolution to Request that PERS Allow the Sunriver
Service District Employees to Use Unused Sick Leave to * RESOLUTION NO. 2004-095
Increase Retirement Allowance, Pursuant to ORS 238.350
WHEREAS, the Sunriver Service District was created on June 12, 2002 by Order No.: 2002-085 of the
Deschutes County Commissioners; and
WHEREAS, the Deschutes County Commissioners, acting as the Sunriver Service District Governing
Body, delegated the management of the Sunriver Service District to the Managing Board pursuant to Order No.:
2002-095 on June 25, 2002, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No.: 2002-076, the Sunriver Service District has joined the Oregon
Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), and
WHEREAS, the Sunriver Service District recently entered into a contract with the Sunriver
Career Firefighter Association IAFF 4262, which provided that the use of unused sick leave to increase
retirement allowance pursuant to ORS 238.350 would be available to employees;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES
COUNTY, OREGON, ACTING AS THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE SUNRIVER SERVICE DISTRICT
as follows:
Section 1. The Sunriver Service District shall request of PERS that its employees be compensated for
accumulated unused sick leave with pay in the form of increased retirement benefits upon service or disability
retirement pursuant to ORS 238.350.
