Just so you know the history, Teri: FY 04-05 was the first time that we had the classification of "Parole and Probation Interns". We created the classification for those temporary, part-time employees who work in our "Transitional House" located on the first floor of our building. During FY 04-05, those employees were paid out of Extra Help. Over the course of the fiscal year, it became apparent that there were difficulties connected to the title "Parole and Probation Interns" and so earlier this calendar year, we received authorization to change the name of the classification to Parole and Probation Aides. In our "Requested Budget" for FY 05-06, under the description "Intern" (16-04 name change had not yet occurred) I allocated $60,804 for that line item. Extra Help remained in our Requested Budget for the purpose of paying Richard Gorby who teaches Life Skills classes for us. After receiving our report for one month's operating expenses, I noted that Parole and Probation Aides appeared to have been paid out of Extra Help. I asked Deborah Feffer to contact your department and correct that. I understand that as a result of Deb's call, line item 12-32 was created for Parole and Probation Aides, and again, that's where the $60,840 budgeted should be. Apologies for any confusion that I created. Thank you. -----Original Message ----- From: Teri Maerki Sent: Monday, August 22, 2005 9:34 AM To: Deborah Feffer; Becky Wanless Cc: Sherri Pinner Subject: FW: Parole and Probation Aides Do you want the budget of $60,840, and the July charges of $5,144.94 moved to 12-32 from 16-04? There are only eight individuals that have been reclassed to 12-32 and they all have the 18-75 (extra help) account on the distribution record. This may just be a timing issue with payroll maintenance done at the end of the month...? Sherri made a transfer for the July payroll of the $5,144.94 from 18-75 to 16-04 less than a week ago at someone's request. I'm just trying to make sure we are doing the adjustment correctly and not having to "correct" the corrections. Thanks! All the individuals that were interns have been reclassified as Parole and Probation Aides, line item 12-32. They are all still temporary, hourly employees without 1 benefits, only the name and number has changed. Therefore, can you please move the funds budgeted and charges made to 16-04 to 12-32. Thank you so much.
