3. Communications Update.
Anna Johnson gave an overview of the classes to be offered to employees.
She added that when openings exist they will be offered to the cities, schools
and other entities.
Chair DeWolf asked that employees be surveyed to find out if they would be
more likely to attend if some of the classes were half-day. He also suggested
that department heads be contacted when one of their staff does not show up for
a class to find out the reasons why.
4. Project Update.
Several requests for economic development grants have been received.
Chair DeWolf said he would grant $5,000 to the Cascade Festival of Music.
Regarding the Redmond Downtown Partnership, Commissioner Luke stated he
would grant $2,000, and Commissioner Daly is granting $3,000 to cover start-
up expenses. None of the Commissioners indicated a desire to grant funds to
the Alzheimer's' Association at this time.
Susan Ross stated the downstairs stairwell access door has been removed to
make it easier for citizens to use. The wall is to be moved back to make the
stairwell more open. Chair DeWolf said that he would like to see the stairs
configured in an "L" shape. Commissioner Luke asked that a sign be installed
to let everyone know that the upstairs door will be locked at 5:00 p.m. Ms.
