2005-1412-Resolution No. 2005-148 Recorded 12/13/2005DESCHUTES COUNTY OFFICIAL RECORDS CJ 200501411 REVIE D NANCY BLANKENSHIP, COUNTY CLERK COMMISSIONERS' JOURNAL iZ/13/Z005 03;Z4;Z8 PM LEGAL COUNSEL II jjjjtj(tj IIIIII11111111111, 2 For Recording Stamp Only BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON A Resolution Adopting the Greater La Pine Community Wildfire Protection Plan RESOLUTION NO. 2005-148 WHEREAS, the Healthy Forests Restoration Act (P.L. 106-393) directs federal agencies in collaboration with local communities to develop plans to reduce fire hazard fuels, prioritize treatment areas, expedite the process for determining environmental impacts from such fuel reduction programs and directs federal funds in accordance with adopted Community Wildfire Protection Plans; and WHEREAS, community members of La Pine, Oregon came together with representatives from La Pine Rural Fire Protection District, the Oregon Department of Forestry, the USDA Forest Service, the USDI Bureau of Land Management, and Deschutes County to develop the Greater La Pine Community Wildfire Protection Plan ("Plan"); and WHEREAS, the Plan was created in accordance with Preparing a Community Wildfire Protection Plan: A Handbookfor Wildland- Urban Interface Communities; and WHEREAS, the Plan identifies and prioritizes areas for hazardous fuel reduction treatments and recommends the types and methods of treatment on Federal and non -Federal land that will protect one or more at -risk communities and essential infrastructure; and recommends measures to reduce structural ignitability throughout the at -risk community; and WHEREAS, for the Plan to take effect it is necessary that the Board accept and approve the Plan; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON, as follows: Section 1.
