We have not used the scope for several years, it is outdated and we are unable to upgrade it to current technologies, however it can still perform basic functions and has a salvage value under $500.00 We currently use a Snap -on MODIS laptop computer system for on -board monitoring and diagnostic system testing. The MODIS is updated twice a year. In the past we have worked with the Central Oregon Community College Automotive Technology Department by sharing resources for training and education. You will remember that a few years ago they used our facility for heavy truck classes that we also benefited from. It is because of this relationship that I'm requesting we donate our Allen scope to the college for their automotive training curriculum. REQUESTED ACTION I'm requesting that the Board of County Commisioners declare the Allen testing equipment as surplus property by resolution. I will then prepare the necessary forms as per our capital asset disposal and transfer policy #2003-098.
