MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING
DESCHUTES COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 18, 2006
Commissioners' Conference Room - Administration Building - 1300 NW Wall St.., Bend
Present were Commissioners Bev Clarno and Dennis R. Luke; Commissioner
Michael M. Daly was out of the office. Also present were County Administrator
Mike Maier; Mark Amberg and Chris Bell, Legal Counsel; and Ronda Connor,
Personnel. Also in attendance was Chris Barker of The Bulletin.
The meeting began at 1:15 p. m., following an executive session that had been
called under ORS 192.660(1) (h), pending or threatened litigation.
Regarding damage done to patrol cars by Greg Willis, the following action was
taken.
CLARNO: Move that Legal Counsel be authorized to file a lawsuit as necessary
to recover damage to County vehicles.
LUKE: Second.
VOTE: CLARNO: Aye.
LUKE: Chair votes yes.
Regarding a medical claim for the son of County employees (Crosswhite), the
following action was taken.
CLARNO: Move that Legal Counsel be authorized to negotiate a settlement of
approximately $80,000 - or about 49% of the total - on this claim.
LUKE: Second.
VOTE: CLARNO: Aye.
LUKE: Chair votes yes.

Being no further action taken or items addressed, the meeting ended at
1:20p.m.
