BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON
A Resolution Initiating Proceedings for the
Manzanita Lane LID to Improve Certain
Dedicated Road(s) Known as Manzanita
Lane and Pocahontas Lane, Deschutes
County, Oregon, Describing the Road(s) to * RESOLUTION NO. 2006-019
be Improved; Designating Where the
Improvements Shall be Made; Defining the
Nature of the Improvements; and Referring
this Resolution to the Engineer for
Completion of a Feasibility Study.
WHEREAS, the owners of property abutting the proposed improvement of Manzanita Lane and
Pocahontas Lane in Deschutes River Woods Subdivision Deschutes County, Oregon, have requested the
Board of County Commissioners to improve this/these road(s); and
WHEREAS, it appears that such road(s) should be improved; and
WHEREAS, it appears that it is in the public interest that the Road Department of Deschutes
County, Oregon, perform the required feasibility study for this improvement; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY,
OREGON, as follows:
Section 1. That proceedings be initiated to improve the road(s) described in Exhibit "A" to
Deschutes County Rural Local Road Standards for the benefit of the area described in Exhibit "B",
attached hereto and by this reference incorporated herein.
Section 2. That the dedicated road(s) to be improved within the district described in Section 1 of
this Resolution are Manzanita Lane and Pocahontas Lane, shown on the map, Exhibit "C", attached hereto
and by this reference incorporated herein.
Section 3. The road(s) to be improved as a result of this Resolution shall be improved to County
Rural Local Road Standards.

Section 4. Improvements to be made to the roadway within the district include, but are not limited
to, reconstruction of the roadway to a 24 foot wide paved road with 2 foot aggregate shoulders, and
adequate drainage, as well as related engineering, administration, mobilization and traffic control work.
Section 5. This Resolution shall hereby be referred to the Engineer for completion of a feasibility
study in accordance with Chapter 12.48.150 of the Deschutes County Code. The Engineer may engage
the services of any qualified engineer for all or part of the investigation required under Chapter 12.48.150
of the Deschutes County Code.

The benefited lots for the Manzanita Local Improvement District are:
Lots 10 through 35 of Block GG and Lots 1 through 8 of Block DD and Lots 1 through 6
of Block EE and Lots 3 through 10 Block FF and Lots 14 through 21 Block FF and Lots
24 through 34 Block FF of the plat of Deschutes River Woods in the Southwest one-
quarter (SWI/4) of Section 19 of Township 18 South, Range 12 East of the Willamette
Meridian, and in the Southeast one-quarter (SEI/4) of Section 24 of Township 18 South,
Range 11 East of the Willamette Meridian, Deschutes County, Oregon;
Together with the following described parcels of land: Lot 11 of Block FF in said plat
together with a portion of Lot 112 of the plat of River Bend Estates as described in that
Statutory Bargain and Sale Deed recorded as 2004-20488 in Deschutes County Official
Records and Lot 12 of Block FF of the plat of Deschutes River Woods together with a
portion of Lot 112 of the plat of River Bend Estates as described in that Statutory
Warranty Deed recorded as 1999-48721 in Deschutes County Official Records and Lot
13 of Block FF of the plat Deschutes River Woods together with a portion of Lot 112 of
the plat of River Bend Estates as describe in that Warranty Deed recorded as 2000-3832
in Deschutes County Official Records and Lot 22 and the East half (E1/2) of Lot 23 of
Block FF of the plat of Deschutes River Woods as described in that Statutory Warranty
Deed recorded as 170-2881 in Deschutes County Deed Records together with a portion
of Lot 124 of River Bend Estates described in Deschutes County documents filed as LL -

to be Improved
50 foot wide public road easements lying within the Plat of Deschutes River
Woods, also being within the Southwest one-quarter (SW1/4) of Section 19 of
Township 18 South, Range 12 East of the Willamette Meridian, and the
Southeast one-quarter (SE1/4) of Section 24 of Township 18 South, Range 11
East of the Willamette Meridian, Deschutes County, Oregon being more
particularly described as follows:
All of that portion of Pocahontas Lane (shown as Buck Canyon Road on the
official plat of Deschutes River Woods) which lies northerly of the northerly right
of way line of Baker Road and southerly of the south right of way line of
Manzanita Lane (shown as Squaw River Lane on the official plat of Deschutes
River Woods) and all of said Manzanita Lane.
