WHEREAS, on the 12th day of March, 1971, pursuant to the Petition
of 200 or more of the owners of real property within the proposed
district, the Board of County Commissioners of Deschutes County made
and entered an order that a public hearing be held on the 2nd day of
April, 1971, at 10:00 o'clock a.m., in the District Courtroom in the
Deschutes County Courthouse in Bend, Oregon, on the question of the
formation of a Rural Fire Protection District to be known as, "LaPine
Rural Fire Protection District," comprising the territory within the
following described boundaries, to -wit:
Beginning at the Northeast corner of Section 8, Township
20 South, Range 11 East of the Willamette Meridian; thence.
Southerly along the section line to the point of inter-
section of U. S. Highway 97 and the section line between
Sections 20 and 21, Township 20 South, Range 11 East of the
Willamette Meridian; thence Southerly along said Highway
U. S. 97 to the intersection of said highway with the
section line between Sections 31 and 32, Township 20 South,
;inge 11 East of the Willamette Meridian; thence Southerly
along Raid section line to the point of intersection, with
the Pacific Gas transmission line in Township 21 South,
Range 11 East of the Willamette Meridian; thence Southerly
along, said Pacific Gas transmission line to the intersection
with U. S. HiLhway 31 in Section 34, Township 22 South,
Range 10 East of the Willamette Meridian;.thence Southerly
along said Highway 31 to the Deschutes County line; thence
Westerly along i:he Deschutes County line to the intersection
with Forest Service Road No. 2027 in Section 35, Township
22 South, Range 9 East of the Willamette Meridian; thence
Northerly along said Forest Service road No. 2027 to the
Township line between Township 22 South, Range 9 East of
the Willamette Meridian and Township -21 South, Range 9
East of the Willamette Meridian; thence Easterly along said
Township line to the Deschutes National Forest boundary in'
Section 32, Township 21 South, Range 10 East of the Willa-
mette Meridian; thence Northerly along the said Deschutes
National Forest boundary to the intersection with forest
road No. 1913 in Section 31, Township 20 South, Range 10
East of the Willamette Meridian; thence Northerly and
Easterly along the Deschutes National Forest boundary to
the intersection with Fall"River Road; thence Easterly along
Fall River Road to the section line between Section 26 and
27, Township 20 South, Range 10 East of the Willamette

Meridian; thence Northerly along said section line to the
Northwest corner of Section 27, Township 20 South, Range
10 East of the Willamette Meridian; thence Northerly and
Easterly along the Deschutes National Forest boundary to
the Northeast corner of Section 23, Township 20 South, Range
10 East of the Willamette Meridian; thence Northerly along
said section line to the Northeast corner of Section 11,
Township 20 South, Range 10 East of the Willamette Meridian;
thence Easterly along the section line to the true point of
beginning, all in Deschutes County, Oregon.
WHEREAS such hearing was held and the Board made and entered
an order calling a special election to be held on Tuesday, the 11th
day of May, 1971, on the question of the formation of such Rural
Fire Protection District, and
WHEREAS such election was held and the canvass of the votes was
returned to the County Clerk of Deschutes County which such canvass
showed:
Shall the LaPine Rural Fire Protection District
be formed: Yes 283
No 67
and it appearing to the Board that a majority of the votes cast
favored formation of the District.
THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED that LaPine Rural Fire Protection
Dl!,trict, having; the boundaries as described above, and au described
in the order calling, the election, has been established.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the Clerk of Deschutes County
Issue Certificates of Election to:
Glenn H. Anderson
Darrell M. Ferns
Hobert C. Patrick
G. H. Sanger
Bill Tokstad
the five candidates receiving the highest number of votes.
