3. Discussion of Space off Coach Road.
Susan Ross explained that the County has space off Coach Road in La Pine that
is no longer needed. The La Pine Frontier Days Association has asked to use
the space for storage. Commissioner Luke directed Ms. Ross to find out more
about the condition of the structure, especially in regard to environmental
issues.
4. County Land Auction Results.
Susan Ross gave an overview of the results of the recent auction. She said that
in regard to properties that did not sell, the County has fulfilled requirements of
the law and can now offer them for sale in other ways. She added that the price
cannot be less than 15% of the minimum bid amount. However, she suggested
that these properties can be offered for sale again at the next auction, which will
likely take place in September and twice a year thereafter.
Mike Maier asked that the County consider any offers that come in at the
minimum bid. The Commissioners agreed.
5. Economic Development Grant Requests.
A grant request was submitted by the Sparrow Club for its "Wing Ding"
fundraiser. Commissioner Luke said he would grant $800.
6. Other Items.
Mike Maier said that Bob Stacy of 1,000 Friends of Oregon asked to meet with
him, Mark Pilliod and the Commissioners. However, this could be in regard to
a ballot measure, and therefore it would not be appropriate for the
Commissioners to be included in that meeting.
Being no further items discussed, the meeting adjourned at 3: 00 p.m.

Purchasing recommendations
• Device - Department
• Monthly Service - Department
• Cell phone - Department
• BlackBerry license - Department
• Other features - Department if required for job. Employee if not.
2. Payment recommendations
• Device - County
• Monthly Service - County
• Cell phone - County or employee? Issue - we currently reimburse employee cell
phone minutes. This could be cumbersome when the County pays part of the bill
and the employee pays the cell portion.
• BlackBerry license - County
• Other features - County if required for job. Employee if not required. Again
mixed billing issues.
• IT administration costs - Departments
3. Other
• The County pays for employee PDA's and subsidizes employee cell phone costs.
A BlackBerry performs both functions. Should the County consider combining
both features into one device?
• The Sheriff's office paid for the Blackberry server and software. This server has
unused capacity and could accommodate additional users. The County could use
the server's excess capacity for other Blackberry users and possibly reimburse the
Sheriff a portion of his initial cost.
