Chairman Young called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. There was
no discussion on Road Dept. or General Fund bills. First item of
business was the supplemental budget. Upon a motion by Bob Montgomery
seconded by Don Grubb, a hearing was set for June 25, 1975 at 10:00
a.m. in the Courthouse Annex. If there are no objections at that time
the supplemental will be approved. Vote was unanimous.
Dave Hoerning submitted a Resolution to Establish Ponderosa Drive as
a county road. Don Grubb moved that July 16, 1975 at 10:00 a.m. in
the Courthouse Annex be set as the date for the hearing of objections.
Bob Montgomery seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous.
At this time the Board of Commissioners Resolved to turn over the
responsibility of the Emergency Services to F. C. Sholes, Sheriff.
Lester Houk, Emergency Director is retiring in July. This was a
unanimous decision.
Dave Hoerning presented the Commission with an Order for a hearing on
the Proposed Formation of Deschutes River Woods Livestock District. He
explained that the proper amount of signatures have been obtained
and checked by the Clerk's office. Don Grubb moved that the hearing
for objections be held July 16, 1975 in the Courthouse Annex. Bob
Montgomery seconded the motion and it passed with a unanimous vote.
Lorin Morgan presented the Commission with a Zone Change request from
R-1, Urban Residential to M1T and M-2, for Brooks Scanlon. Mrs.
Canning and Mrs. Monitz, residents in the area to be affected, voiced
concern over buffering and screening between industrial and residential
zones. Mr. Morgan assured them that this was being done. There being
no objections to the request, Bob Montgomery moved and Don Grubb seconded
to grant the request. Vote was unanimous.
At this time Don Grubb brought up the matter of a motel-hotel tax for
the county. The Commission instructed Louis Selken D. A. to look into
this for them and report on his findings at the next Commission meeting,
June 18, 1975.
