SERVED AS ACTING:CHAIRMAN, COMMISSIONER SHEPARD WAS
ALSO PRESENT. JOHN.ANDERSEN, PLANNING DIRECTOR,
NANCY SHERMAN OF TV 21 AND BRIDGETTE KELLY OF THE
BULLETIN WERE ALSO PRESENT.
ACTING CHAIRMAN YOUNG CALLED THE SPECIAL MEETING TO
ORDER.

Providing for Temporary Mobile Home Permits )
for Individuals Made Homeless by a Recent )
Range Fire in the Redmond Urban Area )
RESOLUTION NO. 81-066
WHEREAS, on August 9, 1981, a range fire completely
destroyed several homes within the unincorporated area of the
Redmond Urban Area, resulting in two families being made home-
less; and
WHEREAS, Deschutes County has prepared and held hearings
on an amendment to the Redmond Urban Area Zoning ordinance of 1980
which would permit the issuance of temporary use permits; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has authority
in emergency situations to grant necessary temporary permits for
the protection of the public's health, safety and general welfare;
now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON, as follows:
SECTION 1. That an emergency housing situation is de-
declared to exist for persons made homeless by the August 9, 1981
range fire in the Redmond Urban Area.
SECTION 2. The Deschutes County Planning Department is
directed to issue Emergency Temporary Mobile Home Permits to those
families made homeless by the August 9, 1981 range fire and who
require the permits to meet their housing needs immediately.
SECTION 3. The fees for the Emergency Temporary Mobile
Home Permits referred to herein are waived.
