Discussion
Mike Maier, Director of Administrative Services, was present
regarding KMSB
to discuss this. He said that a letter had been sent to
(Klamath Med-
all county employees outlining the new KMSB health plan.
ical Service
He also noted that they had held two meetings for the employ-
Bureau)
ees to answer any questions or concerns. He said that the
one concern expressed the most was that KMSB would not cover
chiropractic care unless it was recommended by a physician.
He said that they had not received any negative.comments on
the plan from the employees, and that the employees under-
stood that we would not be able to afford the current cover-
age after the price went up as planned for the middle of this
year. He suggested that at this time the county go with the
KMSB medical plan and retain the ODS dental coverage, but
possibly go to the KMSB dental insurance at a later date.
He also noted that the KMSB medical plan gives vision cover-
age, and it will be an increase in coverage over Blue Cross.
He said that this insurance will be about $3 cheaper Der
month/per person than our current health plan. As of Feb.
1, 1982, we will no longer participate in the Blue Cross
Health plan.

garding Land
,

Inventory w/
various parcels of county=owned land that the Parks & Rec
Parks & Rec.
is interested in acquiring. He said that it was the
recommendation of the recreation committee that the Parks
department should put in for all the parcels of land in-
dicated on the man. He pointed out some parcels of land
that they would like to use as trading stock, these were
a parcel located near Shevlin Park and-one out on Century
Drive. They want to trade these for parcels that will bor-
der Shevlin Park. There was some discussion of reversionary
clauses that would apply to the trading stock, and equal-
izing values of land. One of the parcels indicated on the
map was the old county road shops. Chairman Paulson said
that he had some concerns about that because road funds had
been expended to build some of the buildings. Commissioner
Shepard expressed concern about giving this land up without
further study. After some further discussion, it was de-
cided that Commissioner Shepard will go out and look at
these parcels to help form an opinion on how they should
be disposed of.
