DESCHUTES COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
COURTDAY MEETING - JUNE 1 & 2, 1982
Chairman Shepard called the meeting to order at 10:00 A.M. All
three Commissioners were in attendance for the June 1, 1982
meeting.
There were no amendments to the agenda.
Special At this time Chairman Shepard stated that the Board had

Dist.#l No. l recommending Harry Baker, James Cate and Andy Smith
as replacements for positions vacated by Lloyd Dunn
and Norman Frebel and Jean Miller on the Road District
Committee.
MOTION: PAULSON moved to approve recommendations
and place Harry Baker, James Cate and Andy Smith
on the Special Road District #1 Committee.
YOUNG: Second.
Under discussion, Commissioner Young recommended that
this committee not dissolve, as they had discussed this
as a possibility some time ago.
VOTE: PAULSON: AYE.

SHEPARD: AYE.
County Chairman Shepard noted that a letter had been received
Public from the County Public Welfare Board recommending
Welfare Ms. Donna Gordon to fill the position of Alice Whitley
Board which expires June 30, 1982. The position is a four-year
term to expire on June 30, 1986.
Donna works with COBRA in the community and is in a
position to know the needs of AFS clients.
Chairman Shepard suggested a letter be written to
Alice Whitley thanking her for her term on the Board.
MOTION: PAULSON moved to appoint Donna Gordon
to the County Public Welfare Board.

JSC A discussion was held as a result of a memo from
Vacancy Myer Avedovech, Chairman of the Deschutes County
Juvenile Services Commission. The memo relates that
Nell Heare is living in Arizona at this time and
cannot participate on the Board. Myer is requesting
that the Board of Commissioners consider declaring
her position vacant and appoint a new member. There
were no suggestions or recommendations as to whom
to appoint as a new member.
MOTION: PAULSON moved to declare Nell Heare's
position on the Juvenile Services Commission
Board vacant.

At this time Craig Smith, Planning Department, brought
before the Board for signature a Declaration of Dedication
from Vernon M. Bishop and Janice E. Bishop.
MOTION: YOUNG moved to accept the Declaration of
Dedication for Vern Bishop.

Order For signature was Order No. 82-232, amending Order No.
No. 82-114, establishing Povey Avenue, Orchard Ct., NW 38th St.,
82-232 Orchard Dr., and NW 28th Court within Deschutes County
as county.roads, to correct the description from
NS 28th Court to NW 29th Court.
MOTION: YOUNG moved to approve Order No. 82-232.

Order No. For signature was Order No. 82-234, providing for the
82-234 sale of property. Rick Isham stated that the taxes
have not yet been paid on this property. The County
will keep the deed until the check is cleared.

Rick Isham stated that Order just clarifies and amends
the area included in the Fire District.
