1. AMENDMENTS TO THE AGENDA
There was one amendment to the agenda.
2. ORDER NO. 87-037; ANNEXATION TO RFPD #1
This was a public hearing on the annexation of property
to the Rural Fire Protection District #1. No one in
the public audience wished to speak on this matter.
MOTION: Commissioner Maudlin made a motion to approve
signature of Order No. 87-037, for the annexation of
territory to the fire district-:-- Commissioner Throop
seconded.

• MOTION: Commissioner Maudlin made a motion to
authorize chair signature of the notice of final
hearing on this matter, set for May 27, 1987, at 10

3. JUVENILE SERVICES COMMISSION COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
MOTION: Commissioner Throop made a motion to approve
signature of Resolution No. 87-021, approving the
Juvenile Services Commission's Comprehensive Plan for
the 1987-88 Fiscal Year. Commissioner Maudlin
seconded.

The Juvenile Services Commission was also requesting a
transfer of $1,000 to the Administrative Budget for
printing costs and $1,200 for the Referee Program.

4. EXTENSION SERVICE/4-H BUDGET
Debra Minor Driscoll presented the Board members with a
plaque for their support in Extension services in
celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Extension
Service.
Marvin Young presented the proposed 1987-88 fiscal year
budget for the 4-H,and Extension Service District;-

the budget as presented. Commissioner Throop seconded.

5. LETTER OF ENDORSEMENT FOR COCAAN
MOTION: Commissioner Throop made a motion to approve
writing a letter of endorsement for COCAAN to apply for
a grant from the Family Information and Referral

signature of contract agreements with the City of Bend
for STF funds to operate the Taxi Ticket Subsidy
Program contingent upon review by Legal Counsel.

12. FINDINGS AND DECISION FOR CU-86-84
MOTION: Commissioner Maudlin made a motion to accept
the findings and decision and accompany letter for
Planning Division file number CU-86-84, in regard to a
request for a private landing strip for Jon Renner.

13. PUBLIC CONCERN
Mike Gauthier of 1436 N.W. West Hills in Bend,
addressed the Board in regard to newspaper articles and
events relating to the Deschutes County Library. His
concern was that an employee may be fired due to
letters and articles contained in the newspapers.
Commissioner Prante~ assured Mr. Gothi.a that the County
did not base hiring and firing decisions on newspaper
articles but on performance and evaluation.
