DESCHUTES COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
November 25, 1987
Chair Prante called the meeting to order at 10:03 a.m. Board
members in attendance were Lois Bristow Prante, Dick Maudlin, and
Tom Throop. Also present were Rick Isham, Legal Counsel, and
Karen Green, Assistant Legal Counsel.
1. PUBLIC HEARING. ORDER NO 87-080
A public hearing was held in order to accept any testimony
on the petition to annex property to the Deschutes County
Rural Fire Protection District.
No one spoke in favor or opposition to the request.
PRANTE: I will entertain a motion to sign Order 87-080,
approving the annexation.
MAUDLIN: So moved.

2. ORDER NO. 87-077
Before the Board was possible signature of Order No. 87-077,
approving the annexation of territory to the LaPine Rural
Fire Protection District.

4. PERSONAL SERVICES CONTRACT FOR PRENATAL PROGRAM
Before the Board was signature of amended personal services
contracts for the Health Department's prenatal program. Due
to the increase in funds allocated by the Legislature, the
contract amount was increased by $100 for each patient
prenatal care/delivery.
THROOP: I would move the signature of the personal
services contracts.
MAUDLIN: Second.

5. STUDENT RETENTION INITIATIVE GRANT APPLICATION
is Before the Board was signature of the Student Retention
Initiative grant application in the aggregate amount of
$60,000: $11,500 for Redmond's Study/Life/Affective Skills
Program, $15,000 for expansion of the Teen/Parent program,
and $33,500 for a portion of the funding for the drug abuse
prevention curriculum ("Here's Looking at You 200011).
Commissioner Prante informed the Board that the proposal was
in need of some corrections and was in the process of being
rewritten. She asked for approval contingent upon the
amendments.

rewrite.

6. RESOLUTION NO. 87-065 TRANSFERRING APPROPRIATIONS
Before the Board was signature of Resolution No. 87-065,
transferring appropriations from the Deschutes County
Communications Agency Fund and directing entries.

8. MAINTENANCE CONTRACT WITH FINZER BUSINESS SYSTEMS

This item was postponed.
11. APPROVAL OF REGIONAL STRATEGY DOCUMENT
This item was postponed because it was decided the Board

• would not sign or approve anything until the timeline and
process for the regional strategy has been approved by the
State of Oregon.
12. WEEKLY WARRANT VOUCHERS
Total amount of weekly bills: $346,063.27.

Brothers for the crawler tractor.
