AGENDA REQUEST & STAFF REPORT
For Board Business Meeting of October 10, 2007
Please see directions for completing this document on the next page.
DATE: September 28, 2007
FROM: George Kolb, County Engineer Road Department 322-7113
TITLE OF AGENDA ITEM:
Consideration of signature of Resolution No. 2007-134, establishing a No -Parking zone on Baker Court
located in the Deschutes River Woods Subdivision
PUBLIC HEARING ON THIS DATE? NO
BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS:
The County Road Department was contacted by the manager of the Riverwoods Country Store
concerning the possibility of establishing a No -Parking zone on the west portion of Baker Court in the
Deschutes River Woods Subdivision (see attached map). The reason for the No -Parking zone is that
people are parking cars in this area which is creating a safety issue for the residents of the subdivision
and also the customers of the store. The Road Department contacted the Sheriffs office concerning the
enforcement of the No -Parking zone and they stated that if the zone is clearly marked and a safety issue
exists, they would support the establishment of the zone and enforce it.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
Cost to the Road Department for installation of the signs will be approx. $400 and there will be
enforcement costs for the Sheriffs Department
RECOMMENDATION & ACTION REQUESTED:
The Road Department recommends signature of Resolution No. 2007-134.
ATTENDANCE:
George Kolb, County Engineer
