Luke and Tammy Baney; Commissioner Alan Unger and County Administrator Dave Kanner were out of the office. Also present were Erik Kropp, Deputy County Administrator; and Ken Hales, Community Justice. No representatives of the media or other citizens were in attendance. The meeting began at 10:00 a. m. The group addressed items shown on the meeting agenda, a copy of which is attached for reference. No formal action was taken. The Board requested that the next meeting of the Board and Community Justice be held at the Community Justice office. The Board also asked that an overview of the community service work being done by the adult work crew be provided. Being no further items addressed, the meeting adjourned at 10:45 a. m. Instituted new P&P duty officer schedules which remedied ongoing labor management issue. Implemented crime prevention fund program with existing personnel Reorganized detention center, improved command and control and saved $250,000. Reorganized P&P officer supervision and improved employee accountability. Instituted mental health service in detention to improve safety and reduce exposure to lawsuits. Expanded electronic monitoring and, almost, made it self supporting. Closed transitional living facility, started scholarship program saving $75,000 and improved offender accountability. Forecast FY 2010 Challenges and Opportunities: Correct classification discrepancy between community justice officer I and II position descriptions. Initiate Addicted Persons Intensive Services Program Develop protocols for local control offenders movement to inactive status at 50% time served.
