QUESTION:
Shall the City of Sisters levy$25,000.00 outside the tax base in FY1988-89 for expansion of the City's
Library Building?
EXPLANATION:
The proceeds from this special one (1) year levy to be made in 1988-89 will be used to pay for the
expansion of the City of Sisters' Library Building and facilities. Approximate cost of the expansion
is $200,000. The City will have approximately $75,000 in donations and the $25,000 being levied
herein will give the City of Sisters$100,000 and allow the City to obtain a matching grant of$100,000
for the expansion project. The proposed expansion will add 2,500 sq.ft. to the existing 600 sq.ft.
structure. Improvements include additional seating, shelf space and work space, access for
physically handicapped persons, automation, and an audio visual center.

QUESTION:
Shall Redmond School District 2J levy $1,858,274 in 1988-89 in excess of the amount levied for
operating purposes in 1987-88 and outside its tax base?
EXPLANATION:
This one-year levy will restore school services to the pre-safety net level of 1986-87.Passage of this
levy would bring the Redmond School District out of the `safety net' for one year. This levy will
ensure adequate staff and services for the 1988-89 school year only.
The estimated 1988-89 General Fund levy rate is $17.76 for $1,000 of assessed valuation. The
estimated tax cost for this measure is an ESTIMATE ONLY based on the best information available
from the County Assessor at the time of the estimate.

9-3. THREE YEAR OPERATING SERIAL LEVY
QUESTION:
Shall OWW Unit #1 SRD levy $10,000 each year for three years, outside the tax base for operating
purposes?
EXPLANATION:
OREGON WATER WONDERLAND, UNIT #1, SPECIAL ROAD DISTRICT, formed in 1984,
proposes a new three year operating levy to raise$10,000 per year beginning in 1988-89 for a total of
$30,000. The monies raised will be used to provide maintenance
(snow plowing and grading) and placement of cinders on the YES 5
road beds. This district has no tax base and no revenue source
besides District owner/resident contributions, with which to NO 6
finance needed road maintenance and improvement. This pro-
posed three year serial levy will raise $10,000/year for a total of
$30,000.

QUESTION:
Shall Newberry Estates Special Road District levy on the tax base approved by voters at the May 17,
1988 Election?
EXPLANATION:
The Voters of the District at the Election held May 17, 1988 approved a new tax base for the
Newberry Estates Special Road District.The law requires a second election to authorize the District
to levy on the new tax base. This measure is only to levy the
$6525.00 tax base approved May 17, 1988. YES 16
