1988-08-09 - Ballots A OFFICIAL BALLOT — SPECIAL DISTRICT ELECTION BALLOT Deschutes County, Oregon, August 9, 1988 NO. REDMOND SCHOOL DISTRICT 2J 9-1. SCHOOL DISTRICT OPERATING LEVY. OUESTION: Shall Redmond School District 2J levy $1,448,274 in 1988-89 in excess of the amount levied for operating purposes in 1987-88 and outside its tax base? EXPLANATION: This ballot is $410,000 or 22.0% less than the June 28, 1988 ballot.The items cut include teaching and support staff, summer maintenance projects, noon kindergarten busing, and new textbooks and a fee will be charged to participate in athletics.The estimated 1988-89 General Fund levy rate is $16.92 for $1,000 of assessed value which, together with the bond repayment levy rate of$1.38, will be a total of $18.30 compared to $15.17 in 1987-88. The estimated tax cost for this measure is an ESTIMATE ONLY based on the best information available (ORS 310.395). Under the new Oregon Safety Net Law, this one year levy, if passed by the voters, will be per- manently added to the previous year's operating levy. The only difference between this one year levy and a new tax base is that YES 8 --- a-district-wouid not receive crease-trr-subsegnent years. -- NO 9 WARNING Any person who, by use of force or other means, unduly influences an elector to vote in any particular manner OR TO REFRAIN FROM VOTING, is subject, upon conviction, to imprisonment or to a fine, or both.
