QUESTION:
Shall the school district levy$8,276,206 outside its tax base to operate the schools during 1983-84?
EXPLANATION:
The purpose of this levy is to fund the educational programs and supporting services of the schools
during the 1983-84 fiscal year.If this measure is approved,$4,974,273 of the ballot amount levied in the
1983-84 fiscal year is eligible for partial state funding. However,$3,301,933 of the taxes levied will be
totally financed by local taxpayers without any partial state payment. If this measure is approved, the
levy will create an estimated tax rate of$12.22 per$1,000 of assessed valuation, exclusive of levy for
bonded debt retirement. This levy will support the general fund of the total budget. The total budget for
1983-84 is increased 7.6%over the current year. W*
