EXPLANATION: This measure is put to the voters to pay for a fire protection contract with the City of Sisters for fiscal year 1982-83.If this measure is approved,$2,704.00 of the taxes levied in the 1982- 83 fiscal year are eligible for partial state funding.However,$25,296.00 of the taxes levied will be totally financed by local taxpayers without any partial state payment.In addition,the tax base of$30,824.00 will be levied,and is eligible for partial state funding.If this measure is approved,a total of$58,824.00 will be levied for fire protection. Tax Levy Outside the Constitutional Limitation QUESTION: Shall the City of Sisters be authorized a$76,266.00 special property tax levy for 1982-83 outside constitutional limits? PURPOSE: The purpose of this tax levy is to provide funds to pay salaries and payroll taxes for the City of Sisters emergency services personnel for a period of one year.If this measure is approved $49,792.00 of the taxes levied in the 1982-83 fiscal year are eligible for partial state funding. However, $26,474.00 of the taxes levied will be totally financed by local taxpayers without any partial state payment.In addition to the taxes levied if this measure is approved,the current City tax base will also be levied in the amount of$20,726.00 for a total one-year tax levy of $96,992.00 for the fiscal year 1982-83.
