from Redmond to Bend School District
QUESTION:
Shall the land described in the Tumalo Rim petition be removed from Redmond
School District #2J and annexed to Bend School District #1?
PURPOSE:
Pursuant to statutory procedure, the Deschutes County Education Service
District has been petitioned to hold an election to determine whether the qualified
voters in the Redmond School District want the Tumalo Rim area to continue
to be in the Redmond School District #2J or be made a part of Bend School
District #1. A 'yes' vote approves the change, a 'no' vote opposes the change.

2. City of Sisters One Year Special Levy-A Ballot
QUESTION:
Shall the City of Sisters levy$49,792 outside the tax base for operating purposes
for 1982-83?
PURPOSE:
The City Council and Budget Committee have proposed an operating budget to
be financed by$88,462 in taxes levied, plus$221,377 in other non-tax revenues.
The City has taxing authority to levy or raise $20,726 under existing tax base. It
proposes to levy$49,792 by this measure and$17,944 in a second and separate
ballot.
EXPLANATION:
The tax base established in 1954 is not adequate to finance the present day needs
of the citizens of Sisters.This year's budget contains no new programs and if this
levy is approved the proceeds will be used to help finance and maintain essentially
the same basic services as in the prior fiscal year.If both
ballot measures A and B are approved,the total taxes YES 28
that will be levied to finance the operating budget in
1982-83 will be$5,663 less than was levied in 1981-82. NO 29 W*
If this measure is approved,$49,792 of the taxes levied in
the 1982-83 fiscal year will be financed partially by the
State of Oregon.

QUESTION:
Shall the City of Sisters levy$17,944 outside the tax base for operating purposes
for 1982-83?
PURPOSE:
The City Council and Budget Committee have proposed an operating budget to
be financed by$88,462 in taxes levied, plus$221,377 in other non-tax revenues.
The City has taxing authority to levy or raise $20,726 under existing tax base. It
proposes to levy $17,944 by this measure and $49,792 in a separate ballot.
