1979-12-11 - Ballots SPECIAL RECALL ELECTION BALLOT DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON NO. TUESDAY, DECEMBER II, 1979 I. Reason for demanding the recall of Robert C. Paulson, Jr., Deschutes County Commissioner. Commissioner Paulson has failed to represent the residents of Deschutes County, Oregon. Justification of his course in office by Robert C. Paulson, Jr., County Commissioner. I urge a NO vote in this election so that I may continue to help shape Deschutes County's growth in a reasonable and responsible way. I have heard the people. They want "efficient government a n d a county that is environmentally a n d economically sound." They want "leaders who have the strength to stand up and guide the County without fear of those who are work- ing to erode our quality of life." A NO vote will allow me to keep working for you and a re- sponsive government. Shall Deschutes County Commissioner Robert C. Paulson, Jr., be recalled? YES 14 NO 15 2 SPECIAL RECALL ELECTION BALLOT DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON NO. TUESDAY, DECEMBER II, 1979 2. Reason for demanding the recall of Clay C. Shepard, Deschutes Coun- ty Commissioner. Commissioner Shepard has failed to represent the residents of Deschutes County, Oregon. Justification of his course in office by Clay C. Shepard, County Com- missioner. In November of 1978 1 heard the people of Deschutes County demand land use planning when they voted two to one to re- tain LCDC in its present form. I have worked continually to ensure that the people's mandate be followed. I believe the citizens of this county continue to want guided growth as a means to solve increasing traffic problems, to re- duce the scarring of the country side, and to control the cost of public services. We must make certain that the anticipated population growth of Central Oregon will enhance, not degrade, the liveability of this county. I urge you to vote no on the recall. Shall Deschutes County Commissioner Clay C. Shepard be recalled? YES 35 NO 36
