DESCHUTES COUNTY LIBRARY TAX LEVY
TAX LEVY OUTSIDE THE CONSTITUTIONAL LIMITATION
I. SUBMITTED BY DESCHUTES COUNTY TO PERMIT A LEVY BY
DESCHUTES COUNTY FOR THE FINANCING OF OPERA-
TION OF DESCHUTES COUNTY LIBRARY.
Shall Deschutes County, in order to provide funds for the opera-
tion of the Deschutes County Library, consisting of the libraries
in Bend, Redmond, Sisters, plus Mail Box Books, make a special
levy, which levy will be outside the limitation imposed by Article
XI, Section I I of the Oregon Constitution, beginning in the fiscal
year beginning July I, 1978, in the amount of $298,629 annually,
for a period of two consecutive years?
The maximum rate of levy shall be $0.355 per thousand dollars of
true cash value of taxable property per year. Such funds are to
be expended for the continued operation of the Deschutes Coun-
ty Library.

TO CONTRACT GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDED INDEBTEDNESS
2. Shall Deschutes County contract a general obligation bonded
indebtedness of $383,097, plus interest not to exceed 7% to re-
model, reorganize, expand and improve the Deschutes County
Library and provide for payment of said bonds in a term of not to
exceed ten (10) years? Any funds remaining after completion
will be used to retire bonded indebtedness.
